Ok, I know that this is little and silly but...
For the future, which do you prefer:
Lara pulling her self up from ledges in Legend (Making it seem sooo easy ;)) OR, TRA way?
I prefer TRA, simply because it looked more natural, no one just hops up on a ledge like Legend Lara did.

And another question... her grunting.
Which do you prefer, Legend style or TRA?
I really prefer the TRA grunts. In Legend, she kind of sounded like a guy, low grunts, when she got hurt, or knocked down by an enemy ore something, she kind of went "ehhgh" the sound not even fitting what she was doing :vlol:
And in TRA, all of her grunts fit what she was doing. She gets knocked down, it's kind of like "Aughhh!" or when she falls from a high cliff and to the ground, it sounds like it really hurts her.
Also, she sounds much more like a girl in TRA (grunting wise) And I love the new way she pulls her self up from a ledge.
And, if anyone wants to compare, share, disagree, here you go :wve:

I'm on your side with the pulling up, I never liked how she did it in Legend.

I'm don't know about grunts though, I don't really notice them honestly.

I like the TRA way of pulling up onto ledges in Legend she was doing a Superman manuever (a gymnastics term for hoping onto a platform from a deadhang) and it is very hard to do and its exasting no one could do a million of them at one time the way Lara does them. The grunting I dotn even want to know what you meant by the "it doesnt suit what she is doing" if thats what you meant...lol....But overall I like the new TRA animations better than Legend. I havent played Legend for about 6 months and went to play it again and what "WHAT THE HECK!" when she jumped up from hanging it was so wierd I forgot that she did that.

I did like the pull up animation in TRA, and it was a step up. However maybe I'd mix in both styles so it becomes more random.

As far as the grunts go, I think TRA was a little bit over the top. TRL was better. If you grunt that loud you're liable to give away your presence if trying something covert.

You'd think with the amount of ledges Lara's had to deal with, she'd not have to grunt so much since the physical exertion required would be very little by then.

"Uhhhgggaa!"

The hoist animation in Anniversary is definately a step in the right direction. However, it's not perfect yet. I feel that Lara should do more of a pulling motion like in the classics: Pull up and then push down. It looks more natural and more like what real climbers do.

Grunts are cool. I'd like her grunts to be a little more gruff, though. Currently, it sounds more like a whine than a grunt. But that's just me and my skewered image of Lara. :)

TRa all the way! though I prefer the old moving around and the more hearable grunting - keely (sp?) cant grunt properly :( Nether screem so loud when u laar dies that your hear gets white :( I miss that

Oh.., just let the girl groans as many as she wants to. :cln: I like tha ledge-pulling in previous games. It's more natural.

I think she should go UUUARRRR! :D

J/k, I prefere Anniversary's grunts and climbing ledges animations.

I think she should start visibly and audibly struggling when she's near the end of a gruelling series of acrobatics. :whi:

Not affecting her speed or anything, but subtle little changes in the animations to show fatigue. I find it so unrealistic in all of the games when she's just gone through ten jumps and shimmied around the wall of a hall the size of a football pitch, and she's not even broken a sweat or started trembling.

i agree, you need to show her nakard and getting trembly limbs, like after youve done cross country and your legs have a life of their own, as for the grunting, i like the TRA grunts they fit the actions better than legend, but i want the grunt back where you walk into a wall she puts her hands against the wall and goes 'Arrgh' lol that one made me laugh!

Lol :D I think they were just experimenting, who knows?:p

Not those Legend Queen-Of-Monkeys pull-ups for me puh-leazz. About grunts, TRA beats Legend even at this point. :)

You mean like her hands start shaking when pulling herself up after she's done it sometimes? If so, sounds great and realistic :]

I like the fatigued idea
Wouldn't it be cool if she could pull herself up after many jumps and catch her breath or something, or a large sigh. :)

I think A good idea to show fatigue when jumping would be a jump like one of those really far ones, but without the button press: she should struggle to grab, and then pull up.

On the PS2, her arms do shake, but it might be a glitch in the graphics, as they just sort of vibrate like jelly.

A mix. Depending on how hard something looks to climb. If she can't get a foothold when climbing and is dangling by her arms, she should definelty grunt like the originals

well as a matter of fact,.. i would love lara to have both ledge jumping... tra and trl,... both combined are better than only one....
