Ok I finally got to the part where you first meet Kold and the Skater kid and they take Lara's guns. What I wanna know is why is the skater kid shooting at Lara's feet. She's running straight at him and he shoots are here feet. I know it's a game and Lara is the main character, but come on.
He's overconfident and wants to mock with Lara. It's like a form of torture he has fun with. Shoot her legs to injure her, induce pain, and then kill her.

You know the original skateboard kid in TR1 didn't look to be a day over 10 years old. I'm thinking this kid in TRA is late teens at least, perhaps they felt giving him a skateboard may have made him seem less of an adult, and maybe CD preferred to portray the death of an adult than a 10 year old kid.
At least he's wearing his pants below his hips with his underwear showing, the fashion trend that makes all the women swoon. ;)

I was once wondering about it too, but I think I had figured out why. Let's see if it satisfies you. Just because behind Lara is Kold, Lara is running towards Kid. I think the rule of thumb for shooters is that they don't shoot at a moving target while their allies are on same the line. That's all that simple.
He's not a skater kid he's like eminem and kevin federline, racially confused. :D

Come on, he had to make sure Lara could pull off her Super Cool Slo-Mo Aerial Attack (tm). Who cares about realism or believable characters as long as it's flashy and spectacular? It's the same with Kid and Kold killing each other. It's highly clichéd and unbelievable, but hey, Guilt-ridden Lara (tm) can't kill any more people for a while, and we have to get them out of the way somehow.

It's because he was aiming the guns sideways...no one can acurately aim like that! He's trying to look cool and sucking at it...
