Lara died an embarrassingly high amount of times in the Damocles room before I figured out that I could go from white square to white square by using the red squares. :vlol:
So what was your 'Ha ha, I'm an idiot' moment from Anniversary?
My "Ha ha, I'm an idiot" moment would've been the fight between me and the torso monster... I wasted all my bullets trying to get it to throw itself of the ledge... little did I realise his fingers required shooting too :|

Tomb of Qualopec. I had so little brightness on and so little contrsat that it was sooo dark (to make atmosphere) Unfortunatly I went to the room where the floor falls down and you have to climb your way up again.. well it was too dark for me to find the crate in the room, so i spendt like 20 minuts juming overall. And when my friend told me to brighten it up, and I saw it the same second.
:p
mine was in the damocles room....after you pass the knives on the floor and you have to climp on a ledge (where you pulled the second switch)....it took me forever to realise that you don't try to jump to the ledge in front you but to the white column right beside you... that was a big DOH! moment for me... :p

TOmb of Qualopec will remain the first time ever in TRA that I got stuck lol. I spend a couple of minutes jumping all over the room trying to reach the opposite doors.

Same here. Another IDIOT moment I had was in the Cistern remake area. I couldn't figure out what to do with those things. It took me hours to get that small part done. :cln:

Doing the Time Trial for Mountain Caves in 4:30 seconds four times in a row and then finally realizing that the difficulty must be set to TIME TRIAL for it to actually register. :hea:
I beat Legend 100% and all other TR games and I forgot this! Lucky I was able to fix my L1 button when it poped off the flying controller somewhere in the middle....lol

OMG can you? I'm such an idiot. Really? I spent ages quitting and restarting untill I eventually read that book that gave me what I thought was the code. Honestly??? Are you joking... Gonna have to go home and check
Mine is also Damocles... I didn't realise that Lara could jump onto that white pillar that gets you onto the central pillars :cln:
Palace Midas, trying to reach the Athenian Owl Figurine relic.
I could see I had to stop the sloped tower from sinking in order to retrieve it, but did I think to use the movable box in the nearby corridor? Nope! Did I remember that a movable box could be found in the nearby corridor? Nope!
It drove me crazy for an hour or so, then it came to me...
:wve:
lol U would be surprised how much more idiotic things I havedone! Must be the blondness...

My "Ha Ha I'm an Idiot" moment was when right after I finished anniversary I was copying the saved game to a different memory card so I could delete it off the one it was on and I accidentally deleted it completely without copying it. Now I have to start all over. :hea:

Mine was in Damocle's Room, I didn't realize that when you wall-run you can actually jump backwards to the pillar, ended up trying like 10 times XD.
Mine was in the Fire room in Midas - trying to get the 2nd Artifact. I managed to get round to the switch, pulled it and the pillar rose up to reveal the artifact. I then spent a long long time swimming, jumping, climbing trying to find the damned thing - only to realise later that it was timed and the pillar went back down after like 20 seconds!:o
...oh, and I still haven't managed to get it!:)

I'll have to try that next time. I never pressed the button. Just went through the library/trophy room and the alarm went off by itself when I left the trophy room.

Croft Manor. You can actually PUSH that red button to turn off the alarm, OMG!
:D
OMG why didn't this thread exist before. I have probably spent valuable days of my life getting frustrated with that button.
The most idiotic part of all is when I played it again after restarting the Manor, it happened to me again, and again I didn't know what to do....until I remembered. It took me a while though,
I haven't yet finished the game but so far my dumbest moment was the stupidly huge amount of time I spent traipsing around the room with the big hammer in the Hephaestus section of St. Francis Folly.
Those little statues. I shot at them, I grappled them, I tried rolling into them not realising that I could just stand behind them and move them by their little handles. Doh!

Wow my stupid moment was so much more pathetic than all these, lol. Mine was in caves, after the bridge fell. I couldn't figure out how to get to the other bridge, lol. I had tried to climb up the fallen bridge but it didn't work, so I went looking for other ways to cross the pit. Then I tried it again, and it worked--I just hadn't done it right. I do things like that all the time in Tomb Raider.

Trying to kill the T-Rex before mastering adrenaline dodge. It takes a really long time!
Lol! The Lost Pyramid Was Mine. I Didn't Know The Targets That You Hit So You Can aDvance Were Timed. Im Really Smart

Same here, I tried jumping so many times I wasted most of my med-packs by falling, then I just though: can Lara move this colum?
Also the Atlas room at "St. Francis Folly", I tried many times to avoid the giant ball without pressing the switch. I tried jumping over the hole, hiding behind little colums, and last I saw the little edge and tried to climb it with the ball behind me
another one, pretty silly, was in "Egypt: the sanctuary of scion" the rotating colums puzzle. When I saw it I though "this will be easier" and I rotated all 4 colums without noticing they also moved the adyacent ones
Edit: I just remembered about the manor, like Tomb Raider Master, the red button to turn off the alarm
and with the sundial, I though it only work on day by displaying the shadows on 11 2 7
then I saw a screenshot around with the light that turns on when you open the maze, and I was looking for a switch to turn it on so the sundial displayed the shadows on the numbers. I know, so stupid
mine was in the damocles room....after you pass the knives on the floor and you have to climp on a ledge (where you pulled the second switch)....it took me forever to realise that you don't try to jump to the ledge in front you but to the white column right beside you... that was a big DOH! moment for me... :p
Omigod it took me two days to figure that out!!! I'm serious!

Atlas Room. I didn't know that there's a switch that makes a pole come out.
It never occurred to me that I could jump AWAY from the wall while wall-running in Damocles. Wow I felt dumb.

The library in Croft Manor. Completely clueless. I had to start over because I was certain I had got myself trapped in there with no way out. Next time I played it... I did it again D: I shot a lot of things in there before I found the painting. Also the first and last time I tried turning to Lara's Journal for help.
The Damocles room, I didn't realize that the lever in the first room turned one of the spike squares off. So I was trying for ages to get past the second set of spikes when I could have just gone around them. O_O

I got stuck on that red button in the library too.
And also got stuck on the centaurs trying to make them run into the water...
There were many 'How dumb can you be?' moments I had in this game...
My "im an idiot" moment came when i found out somewhere in the second half of the game, that you actually can fast climb along ledges and up ladders.
Me: What!? You can FAST-climb? Sweet!
In the Sancuary of the Scion when I finally realised what the rings on the sliding wall switches meant in both the obelisk rooms. Im an idiot!!!:tea:

My idiot moment would be in the Sanctuary of the Scion. I couldn't figure out how to raise the platform from that turning puzzle... I spent 2 hours!
Another one would be in the Tomb of Tihocan. I kept trying to grapple the shields toward me, rather than pick them up. I did that for about 2 hours also! :vlol:
between me and the t-rex it took me a week!
:yik: Really?! I beat it my first try on hard mode! :p
I have had a lot of moments where I have been stuck but the one moment that sticks with me where I was a complete dope way in Sanctuary of the Scion in the side rooms where you make a Pyramid with the light. I was in the first room for ages jumping around and dragging them down not having a clue how it helped the situation. Then after about 15 minutes I looked behind me with the camera after pulling a ladder thing down for the 100th time and noticed the huge pillar that raises when you pull it down...Oh dear. -.-
My "Ha ha, I'm an idiot" moment would be when I tried to wallrun in the manor, but I wouldn't realise that I hadn't collected the grapple. I spent at least half an hour trying to figure out what was wrong before I took a look at her butt out of pure randomness. :p

My idiot moment was Tomb of Khamoon Jump of .5sec.It took me 50 times to do the run to the opposite side.

Unfortunately my idiot moments are not as far apart as I'd like them to be. I ran and fell around the fire room in Midas' Palace like an idiot trying to get that timed relic before I realized that Lara could pull up on that pillar right before the relic pillar. Duh me... XD
Same here. Another IDIOT moment I had was in the Cistern remake area. I couldn't figure out what to do with those things. It took me hours to get that small part done. :cln:
Me too. ^ Cistern is my least favorite.
I got stuck in the library in the manor for a good day or so. I didnt realize you just needed to press the red button next to the door to unlock it... I figured it was just the security system.
