Now that I've completed both Legend and Anniversary, I can strongly say something I never thought I'd say:
I'm glad Eidos fired Core and hired Crystal Dynamics.
I mean, when I first played Legend and tried the new controls I was certainly sceptical, and I'm sure everyone was. But now I've given both of Crystal's games a full playthrough, I can give them my approval.
The golden age of Tomb Raider was TR1, 2 and 3. After which everything went steadily more and more downhill with each new game. Then Crystal came along and Tomb Raider was restored to its former greatness. I can't decide if I like TR1 or Anniversary more, and Legend is nearly just as good.
There seem to be two groups of fans: Those who loved Angel of Darkness and hate Crystal Dynamics for replacing Core, and those who believe that Legend was just the fresh start the francise needed. You can add me to the latter.
