how do I do a long running jump?

Hi all, I'm a little bit frustrated here.... I'm trying to get Lara across from a tree branch (in level 2 of TR3) to a wall, and I know from the hints that I should be able to jump there.

I run with the up arrow, and at the last second, hit the alt key. I then hit the ctrl key so she gets ready to grab the ledge. It never works. she always falls too short of the ledge, and down in the water with the stupid piranhas.

Any suggestions?

Try walking to the edge of the ledge and hit the back arrow to make Lara take a hop back. Now try to run jump and grab. Taking the hop gives Lara a run up and more mommentum.

Thanks, Jenna... you were right! You can jump farther by backing up only one square rather than taking a running jump starting from farther back. :)
