Help with Grappling Hook

Have playstation 2.
Grappling hook will not grab rings in anniversary game
is this happing to anyone else
I have played all the games and never had a problem like this
it workes for everything except when you have to jump and grab
it won't grab

Silly question, but are you jumping *forward* and grappling?

I don't know how you'r doing but on TR:A is different from TR:L, to jump and grapple you must press jump key then grapple key, and not like TR:L, where it was twice press on jump key. Also press only once on Grapple key... if you press twice it will attach and de-attach th ring. I hope this helps and Welcome to the forums...

i'm playing ---- trying to play - anniversary,after 2 days i got her to walk :hea:

now after getting her on the rock at the grappling ring,it-will-not-latch-on.I stand there - jump - throw the hook - then try again - been doing that for 3 days now.Sometimes it acts like it grabs for a split second then i try again.....:hea:

I'm useing pc version with gravis gamepad pro

any help at all with this? tks

Per409 - you have to jump forward off the ledge, then immediately press the grapple button. If you just jump in place, or just throw the grapple at the ring, it won't stick.

Yeah, it's called a suicide grapple. Leap first and hope for the best. One of the lamest ideas for a gadget ever devised.

Well. There is a thing that changed with the grappling technique.

In Legend you could jump towards the grapple and press "Jump" But in TRA you must press the square button after jumping.
