View Full Version : My TR soundtrack CD
Core/Eidos have never released a soundtrack for the TR games, despite probably achieving admirable sales due to the huge TR following. This has driven me to create my own...
A few months ago I recorded the theme music and bits of odd incidental music from the 5 games into my PC direct from my PS1. I then re-mastered them (de-noised and normalised), and burnt a 20 track Tomb Raider music CD covering the 5 games.
Recently I bought the Game 'Collector's Edition' promotional DVD, which includes the AOD soundtrack (you haven't got that DVD yet? Shame on you!).
I was able to digitally lay the CD I created AND the AOD soundtrack onto minidisc, which I now listen to on my journeys to and from work...
...I particularly enjoy walking through Embankment station with the dancey snowmobile music from TR2 playing. Oh, and the creepy new AOD orchestral stuff is great when you're in London at night.
Anyone else here made thier own TR soundtrack?
I tried, but I never got round to finishing it and my computer crashed, wiping my music collection before I'd burned it to disc.
There was a promotional album officially made by a French video game magazine (Joystick) for the release of TR2 in late 1997. It included some famous cues of TR1 and (back then) forthcoming TR2. I was blown away. I was so dying to play at the game that I couldn't stop listening to it.
Looking back, it was nothing to really fancy about. I would probably have made a better album by picking myself the rightful tracks directly from the game CD http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
of course Chris :D
But it kind of turned into a disaster
Good stuff anyhow
I've made one... It has TR1 Theme, TR2 Theme, TR2 Snowmobile, TR2 Venice Violins, TR3 Theme, TR3 No Waiting Around, TR3 Spooky jungle, TR3 Geordie Bob, TR3 Puzzle Element, TR4 Theme and TR4 Jeep.... plus the themes from Commandos:BTCOD and Worms Armageddon http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif But the TR4 soundtrack doesn't sound very good on the CD after I'd converted it to MP3......
I'd love to make one, but I never managed to get my hands on the music in question... :(
