Hey everyone. I just saw this movie today for the first time, and I must admit, it was not as great as everyone says it is. Its hardly funny, and although its original and clever, it just wasn't the "masterpiece" everyone claims it to be in my opinion. At most I would give it a 7.5/10

I am the only one who thinks this about the movie or does anyone else agree? Just curious http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

P.S. I thought that Kill Bill Vol 1, one of Quentin Tarantino's other movies, was ALOT better.

I agree with you TRfreaky. I can't believe that I saw Pulp fiction when I was 10  lol but I didn't think it was that funny either. I thought that kill bill was great and even though I'm not a Quintin fan- I think that his movies hold a certain property to them that makes them stand out. Uma Thurman is awesome in Pulp Fiction IMO. She inspired me to dye my hair black http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif and I love it.

Kill Bill is just.. whoah... Travolta's dancing is simple no match for Thurmans ability to slice a mans limbs off in a blink of an eye! yeah! woo! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif

I think Pulp Fiction is a really good film. Each of the little individual stories contained within it aren't that riveting. It's the script detail which makes it great. Tarantino could write a film about a Peruvian tortoise, and it would still probably be sharp and witty.

"Sorry, did I break your concentration?"

Jesus, are you MAD?!?!

PF is Taratino's GREATEST film. Forget all the critical acclaim for Reservoir Dogs - that's overrated. Ditto Kill Bill.

PF is one of those rare films that's funny AND clever. If you don't find it funny, maybe you're not clever enough to get the jokes...

Samuel L. Jackson shines in this film - how can anyone forget his terrifying face when he sucks that cup of Sprite? Amazing. 'Mmmm, that's a tasty burger'.

Oh, and the genius scene where John Travolta is on the toilet, and leaves the uzi on the kitchen worktop for Bruce Willis to find...

'Do you know WHY there isn't a sign outside my house that says dead nigger storage?'

And the cool plot - how each sub-story links in with it all - for example how the opening scene is actually the LAST scene...

Come on, PF is Tarantino's masterpiece by far...

It's not that I'm not clever, it's just that it wasn't that funny in my opinion. And the movie started off very slow, in fact, I was a bit bored in several parts of the movie.

Overall, I think Pulp Fiction is just an overrated movie and decent at best, and I will never understand why they call it "one of the best movies of the 90's". But hey, each to his or her own, I suppose.

Personally I would rate this as one of the best films ever made, and Reservoir Dogs is not over-rated at all..It's just as good if not better than Pulp Fiction.

Just got back from seeing Kill Bill... I'm a bit unsure whether it was supposed to be funny or not but I smirked more than a few times... Also, it kind of gives "splatter-films" a new meaning.

Needless to say - I will be getting the dvd!
