Mkay. Here's another topic to hold us over while we wait for the game: Do any of you guys like the Beatles? If so, what's your favorite song? I absolutely LOVE the Beatles! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/love4.gif My fav. song is "I am the Walrus" and "Strawberry Fields!" OH YEA! :D

from a musical standpoint, they were often credited with using modes instead of standard Major and Minor scales in their songs. This was one of the things that made them sound unique. This was in a time when that had not been done in a long time.
Unfortunately, this was a band with no real direction. I am glad they are no more.
The only good thing came from that whole mess, is that after J.L. died (the fact that he died, and how it happened is a tragic story, but not the point of this post), David Gilmour wrote a great song about the anger and hurt he was feeling. It is called Murder, from the About Face disc- 1984.
But of course, everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

Lady Madonna,
Children at your feet,
Wonder how you manage to make ends meet...

That's my favourite. Although their best stuff was when they let George Martin do his thing. Sergeant Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour and their contained songs would have been nothing without the genius of George Martin. Great producer.

I'm not really a Beatles fan but Yellow Submarine is brilliant when you're drunk!

It's just so crazy! The Beatles must have been on some kind of drug while writing that song! Just read this part to the lyrics:

~Sitting on a cornflake--waiting for the van to come! Corporation T-shirts, stupid bloody Tuesday man you've been a naughty boy you let your face grow long!~

It's craziness http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

one of the coolest crazy lines in my eyes is from Pink Floyd, brain damage- on Dark side of the moon:
the paper holds their folded faces to the floor, but everyday the paperboy brings more.

or from Wish you were here:
we're just two lost souls, swimming in a fish bowl, year after year

DragonDan, great choices. I love Pink Floyd. Almost all their songs have profound lines in them but the two you chose are some of the best. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
