omg that has to be the funniest thing i have ever read! LMAO especially this part:

When falling down or being hurt, Lara makes a plethora of sexy moans that someone listening in the next room could easily assume that sexual intercourse was taking place.

LMAO! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif

How odd, I came across this site no later than yesterday - for an entireley different reason. I was actually looking for some references about Taoism.

This is a very weird place. At first you're positively intrigued by the fact that they have a specific section for presenting many alternative religions in a very documented way. But you quickly realize that the sole purpose of this section is to actually heavily tone down those religions (even the parent monotheistic ones) and claim instead the omnipotence of Jesus' way of thinking over any other spiritual path (as if they really knew something about Jesus' way of thinking).

The interest of a sacred text (even to a non-believer) is precisely to open yourself to new horizons and philosophies, not to lock your mind and cover your ears - which is the sign of growing integrism and sectarianism.

In other words: Lara, thou shall not moan! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

If Tomb Raider is just for hormonally challenged adolescent boys, then why are so many girls into the game? And plus, why are there fans of all ages? Just makes you wonder..........

A note to ChrisRaider:

I know for a fact that not all Christians are 'laughably uniformed'. I myself am a Christian, meaning that I have trusted Jesus Christ to save me from my sins. Also meaning I am going to heaven when I die. So, to say that all Christians are 'uniformed' is by far not true! I do think that the person who wrote the article is uninformed about the Tomb Raider series, and the article is particularly funny, but scroll down the page of the article and read what other Christians say about the game. Practically none of these people who subbitted their own opinion are uninformed, and most find nothing wrong with the game. By the way, being a Christian and having been playing the Tomb Raider games since 1997, I find nothing wrong with the TR games, and they do NOT interfere with my moral values.

Well said Suavecooper2000! Pointing fingers shouldn't be done to Christians in general.

Annacia

Shouldn't be done to anyone in paticular.

True, Bekerooz, fingers shoulden't be pointed at Christians. But also like Annicia said, fingers shoulden't be pointed at anyone. Even though you may think what someone does is wrong, you still shoulden't point fingers. Like, for examample, I believe that although Satanists/Wiccans practice very wrong things, I'm not going to look down on them or think less of them just because of what they do. Just my two cents. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Draco, I wasn't grouping Satanists with Wiccans, I was simply saying that I don't agree with what they practice. Though i've never gotten deep into those two Religions, I do know that they are very different from each other.

:D I'm surprised she doesn't do more than moan. For taking some heavy gun fire and heaving herself up 90 degree angles I'm surprised she doesn't add some screams and grunts.

It's fun to make a noise like that when you are standing up, like after being on the computer for too long. ;)

Yeah, every time I get done playing Tomb Raider for awhile I get out of my chair and strech my arms, pop my knuckles (all that playing,y'know?), and make a growling/yawning noise! Everyone in my family just sits there looking at me like I came from Mars or somthing! But I think it would be funny if in AOD, when she jumps through glass or somthing like that, or gets cut, she should do a scream/growl combination! Like Angilena in the movie! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Well I suppose you weren't, maybe Im a bit protective of Wiccans, they make more sense...

Hey, suavecooper2000:

No offence. You took my post the wrong way.

I said:

'You can't beat mad American Christian freaks for being laughably uninformed and tunnel-visioned! Hilarious.'

I never said ALL Christians were uninformed. I was in fact labelling 'mad American Christian freaks' laughably uninformed and tunnel-visioned.

I'm 'pointing the finger' at 'mad American Christian freaks', that crazy minority of Christians who write junk like that article, who believe censorship should be enforced on culture (so that it falls in line with thier beliefs). Who believe that evolution should be banned in schools. I'm pointing the finger at those freaks who dreamt up prohibition, who interpret the Bible for their own twisted ends.

I'm NOT attacking, generalising or lampooning Christians. Although not a Christian myself I have Christian friends, who are well-adjusted and well-informed.

No offence was intended.

Please don't mis-quote me in future.

Can people please not group SATANISM and WICCAN in the same catagory, they are VERY different, i have a Wiccan friend and her religiong is a very peaceful/beautiful one.

Plus there are goods and bads to every religion, but it doesnt apply to all people of that belief ;)

LOL! :D Fundamentalists can be so funny. For a parody of fundamentalism, read Landover Baptist (http://www.landoverbaptist.org)

I hold nothing against Christians or Christianity but what I am against is people trying to force their beliefs down my throat. I used to be a Christian but I found so much in that religion when I went to church that I just couldn't believe in. Also, I saw things and had experiences that told me there was no God.

As for Wicca, white witches believe that whatever they do, it'll come back three times stronger, a kind of karma concept. There are good witches and bad witches. White witches seek to heal and help but don't expect magick to cure everything.

Satanism? I'm not greatly informed about it but what I am told is that it basically is a religion that means that you never do anything for anyone else-a bit silly if you ask me. It relies on the command "do what thou willst." There have been in the past satanic cults such as The Order of Dog Blood and The Family led by the notorious Charles Manson. However, there has been no concerete evidence to prove they exist now nor that, as most conspirators will have you believe, there is an underground worldwide satanist movement.

There have been many books chronicling "survivors" of abuse but since no evidence has been found, they're written off as iatrogenic disorders. Iatrogenic is a psychological term for a further problem produced by an attempt at treatment. For more info, visit: Religious Tolerance (http://www.religioustolerence.org)

I don't know aout this, someone might inadvertantly make such a sound and everyone would mob the person with questions like:

"What was your fastest time in Red Alert?"

"Did you have trouble with that harpoon gun too?""

"Which secret was the hardest for you to get?"

"Don't you just hate the sound Lara makes when she lands on the spikes?"

Poor person would turn white and run! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

"What do you think about this baddy waving at Lara in that TRx FMV?"

Last summer Annacia and I were on the road and in this tiny little town, in their library, they had this huge reference section on different languages. I started perusing through the Jewish one, and thinking about this tattoo that I was wanting to get. I chose the word that I did because it was short. (I'm not into pain THAT much) You should have seen how long the word for it was in Russian.

Not I'm not Jewish. I've read some things about their religion and I find their pacifism interesting.
