Sony are gearing up to release a load of new hardware soon. Including PSX, PStwo, PSP and PS2 HDD.

This PSX multiple media device plays a combination of PS2,PS1 has a DVD recorder, network adapter, CD player,TV tuner and a HD (hard drive) recorder for all of the above. Having said that though, sales in Japan have apparently been low, onlookers were dissapointed by the fact that it cant play CD-R's, CD-RW's or mp3 CD's!

The PStwo is a re-make of the current Playstation 2, only it will be styled in the same was as the PSone.

Then there's the PSP, and from what I've seen, this is really one to watch, a handheld PS2. Slightly bigger than a gameboy, but it plays PS2 games! sweetness. Looks cool too, but there's concerns over the button layout at the moment and only pictures have been seen, but i've just read that a few companies are making PSP games already, so it must be about due.

Finally the PS2 HDD, the long awaited hard drive which sony have been promising PS2 fans for over 3 years now. How much of an improvement this will make to PS2 is anyones guess. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-3.gif

i'll be investing in a PSX when it comes avaliable - but not the first lot... i like to wait till they release the second or third version (like 8 months later) of the console that usually gets a few bugs out of it...

It will be a sweet machine - even if it doesnt play CDR/CDRW/MP3 CD's - the other features, for me, contribute to a fantastic gaming console... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Who knows when Australia will see such devices tho...
