I've read somewhere (apologies if already posted) that AOD was part 1 of a 3 part trilogy, or was going to be. At the end of AOD we have sort of an unfinished story, so my thots are that CD will end up continuing the AOD and or remaking AOD after the Legend story line. i love the legend story and it will probly stretch into another 1 or 2 games (tr8, tr9) after Lara has the family business over with, thats is when the AOD story begins. i think it would make alot of since, and after seeing the end of AOD, i really want to know what happens next (hope there's no Kurtis love)
The end of AOD below, almost makes me as anxious to see next AOD than Legend...:D

How about you?! Do think this is a big possibility:o I HOPE SO!:jmp:
I would love for them to do that but only if they get the original writer of AOD. I believe toby gard was in charge of the Legend storyline and i do not want to see him **** up the AOD one

It is unlikely seeing that TR is CDs now, and Core created AoD, and I also don't think it should happen.
I don't like the whole trilogies idea - I think they should complete the Legend storyline in TR8, and then start a new one with TR9 and that every game should have its own story (like TR1-3 did). They should connect some small bits like Amanda's similarity to Natla or Lara's trophy room - but just as an egg for fans, not as an important story part. :)
i have a bad feeling about CD will take over the AOD project and make the second part like Lara is now going to Turkey and hear about avalon and instead of destroying some evil Nephilim, she turns over and go search for Avalon and Reunite with her mother (some cheap drama story) XDDDD
It's never going to happen. My prediction. :)
Isn't there a fan project continuing the AoD storyline in Level Editor anyway? I'd be interested in playing that.

Someone shares my opinion! Let's say I'm like Anaya: "I build for the future Lara, I don't dwell in the past"

I really hope so, but I also erally doubt it :/
Eidos aren't likely to touch anything related to AOD with a ten foot pole.

True. I dont think it should be continued.
I didn't say that, I just said that Eidos are never going to do it. ;) Personally I'm not an AOD fan. I enjoyed it, like most of the other TR games, but I wasn't all that impressed. Still, I'd like some sort of closure for the fans of the story, they deserve to know how it was supposed to end. That doesn't mean it has to be in another game, there are other ways to tell stories.

But Lara also said to Anaya: Isn't that what digging up the past is all about? Closure?...
TR:AOD trilogy will never be dead to me as long as we have fan projects working towards some sort of closure. Like Mona said, there are other ways to tell stories and I don't mind how that's achieved or through what medium.
Core's vision for AOD is dead and gone, and Crystal Dynamics have shown they are not interested in going in the direction AOD was going. It is possible we might see some similarities between the next few games and the AOD trilogy, but l think that is as close as we will get. :(

I believe that CD are only taking TR1-5 into account and pretending that AOD doesn't exist... Unfortunately! ;)

I doubt CD is going to mix their Lara with Core Lara! See what happened last time they did it (TR:A), history was changed! Lara wasn't searching for the Scion only for fun but to try to know what happened to her Mother! CD won't touch on another Core Game, though I would like to see Lara return to the Horus Pyramid in TR4 and finish with what she released, but even that was erased from her Bio now! I would like see Set again released (by some workshippers) and Lara managing to stop him again
i doubt that CD wil wan to re-do/continue AOD...they are SO drifting off from the original lara...i mean the engine is good, the graphics r fine...
but y change her bio...the original was wat she was, wat WE wan.. :hea:
i wouldnt mind them re-doing AOD...it was pretty good, jus spoiled by bad gameplay etc...yes giv the game closure, a clean break bfore veering lara into brand new adventures :D
AOD was definitely a one-off. I doubt we'll see another one.

sadly, i agree with almost all of you. but i think it would be nice to see AOD again, but probly will never happen:( cores AOD lara has nothing to do with her mother, but after legend things will be solved and back to the raiding tombs for fun thing, altho she still enjoys it in tra and trl. but CD AOD could then be virtually the same as Core's, with no family allowed. :o
it would be nice;)

i hope aod isnt remade id rather see it buryed deep in darkest chambers of
HELLdun dun duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun
kidding i just woouldnt buy it
The chance of CD or Eidos remaking AOD is likened to winning the Powerball twice in a series of two days.

Translation: It ain't gonna happen. :p
It's not a very realistic possibility. CD wants to do their own thing (which we all saw when they changed Lara's bio).
I'd love to see AOD Trilogy continued, but not by CD. They'll just screw that up like they did Legend. I'd only like to see it happen if the old Core boys do it, but the chances of that happening are slim to nothing. Unfortunately.

Has Crystal shown they are not interested in AOD? I hate it when people bash AOD out of the blue, but at least all of their complaints that I've seen are regarding the controls, bugs, or unfinished nature of the game rather than the story, atmosphere or level design. They did include the AOD outfit in TRA, and Natla's Mines is very strongly reminiscent of AOD's level design and atmosphere. It's my understanding that CD was playing around with an AOD continuation (or at least using an AOD-style version of Lara) for their TR games until Toby Gard came onto the project and insisted on the story being done his way.
I'm not sure exactly what a creative manager or lead designer does (is it a deep commitment to the game or is it a position overseeing several projects at once?) In any case, at least one person from the Legacy of Kain series was involved in AOD according to imdb. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1638595/
I think it's possible that Crystal would want to continue AOD, especially considering that AOD was much more their style than classic Core's (the deep story, the dark atmosphere, the revenge and murder angle, having stealth kills and having extraneous characters in the background to flesh the world out). I think they'd be much more comfortable in the AOD style than in the TR1-5 style.

You explained it perfectly! I'm so glad that someone agrees with me! thank you:D
I think that it's a pretty good possibilty...
who wants to bet on it. JK we'll just have to see.;)

That's a very good point, but remember that it's Eidos who are calling the shots, not CD. The latter have to do what they're told. If Eidos don't want an AOD style game, they can't make one.
Sadly I think AOD will keep uncontinued forever... Unless fans do otherwise. Let's hope that project of AOD2 by fans goes underway and gets finished. That would be the only way, I'm afraid.

Damn :( I wish CD was allowed more creative freedom.
Never say never... eidos did release a DVD game of AoD years after bashing it and blaming core for it's failure back then. (even though the original sold like 3 million copies)

There might be I possibility, but if so why did CD use LOK engine on TR:L and TR:A, and perhaps on a future TR?

Because it was what they were used to working with? (I'm not sure what point you are making here:confused:)

I'm speaking of movement and of course, Time in TR is immutable like LOK, though I thought, for moments, that when Lara was seeing her mother in the Dais, a Paradox would be introduced and Amelia Croft would return!
