View Full Version : The swinging poles - help needed.

Can anyone please give me a tip on how to use the poles that slide down as soon as you swing on them, that then makes the other pole too high. I have tried being very quick but that doesn't seem to work. I have done all the Tomb Raider games and I find this one very frustrating, it is all swinging and jumping, not many real puzzles to solve. Just my opinion!

You need to jump from the pole on the first time round, as soon as you grab on press jump again, and make sure you are pushing the analogue stick in the direction you want to swing. Sometimes the camera can be really annoying, but keep trying.

Thanks Mintymouth I will try that. Liilyc, I am on Sanctuary of the Scion, but the same poles are in previous levels and caused me grief and I think I got through with luck rather than technique.

Your Welcome. How exactly were you trying to do it before? You should get the hang of it. Its all about the positioning of the camera really.

Usually the first pole swing doesn't require a direction key, or will work with the key you used to get there, if you press jump at the right time. After that, the camera view usually isn't an issue.

The problem is, when I am hanging on a ledge, and the sinking pole is behind me, by the time I have jumped and started her swinging the other pole is out of reach. I think the last time I managed to do it it was a straight jump on to the first pole. I must have done it 100 times. I think this is something I have got to master rather than download a game. This is not my favourite TR game!!

Hmmm So have you passed the poles yet? or are you still stuck?

If you are still stuck would you mind posting a screenshot please? Im getting a little confused. I dont know what you mean by the bold segment.

Thanks for the video. You make it look so easy. The jump I am stuck on is about 2,50 timewise on your film. I know what to do - it just isnt happening, and I might have to download one of your games because I am getting fed up with it. Thanks anyway, I'll just keep trying,
