View Full Version : Huge Textures
I downloaded lots of textures for th NGLE.. and each texture is around 512 x 512 px... i am using Tbuilder to convert them to tga.. but there are lots of textures i want to load together... and tbuilder wont let me put them all in (i may just have to make a selection if there is no solution) but the main problem is that when i upload these 512x512 textures in NGLE.. they appear messed up.. how do i solve this/these problem/s ??
The current TR4 file format is limited to 256x256 textures. I don't think you can use larger yet, it requires a complete new TR4 file format... Unless someone already made a patch for that where I don't know of yet :p

what if you turn it into a v50 project? (forced into 128x128) ;)
Well, you need to turn it into a 50 project to get 256x256 to work in the first place, Stranger. Moodydog: Why not use 256x256 or 128x128 instead? Just convert your textures to those resolutions.
Last time I mailed Paolone he told me he was trying to force the editor to use 256x256 as default. Maybe that will open a door for possible 512x512 textures in the future? No idea, just specualtions ;)

Any paint program will work I guess. I often use Irfanview. A great tool that is free to use :)

thanks but found a good way.. all i did was usetbuilder and split the huge textures into 2 part.. so half of it is underneath the texture.. so i get the ull 512 px texture but just in bits! :)

is there any programs that can split the textures up automatically into like 64x64 or something?
