Former TV presenter Caron Keating has died after losing a seven-year battle with breast cancer. The 41-year-old former Blue Peter presenter died on Tuesday night, according to a family friend. Keating, the daughter of television presenter Gloria Hunniford, presented Blue Peter during the late 1980s. She took time out from television to look after her two sons, but made a return to TV in 1996 with stints presenting ITV1's This Morning. Her family said she died at 1815 BST on Tuesday at Hunniford's home in Sevenoaks, Kent, surrounded by the family.

It only seems like yesterday when we used to discuss the previous day`s Blue Peter in the library at college,Caron Keating Vs. Janet Ellis.Strange to think she`s dead her being so young.
We never know what`s round the next corner, all we do know is that we never have enought time. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/grouphug.gif

This is sad news, not to mention out of the blue. I'm too young to remember Caron on Blue Peter, but I do remember her presenting various stuff in the late nineties. I wondered a couple of times why she just vanished from the screen all of a sudden. I presumed she was having a kid or something. I don't remember there being a mention of her having breast cancer.

Sympathies to the family, anyway.
