If you are referring to the console version then DO NOT buy it! Just buy the sims 2 for the PC and get the Sims 2 pets expansion pack. Much, much better :)

Don't remind me of the console version please. They all suck, except for Bustin' Out.

The console versions are horrible! I'm agreeing with everyone else, get the PC version. You'll thank yourself for it!

The console versions are absoloutely terrible. Rubish graphics, horrible colours. Crappy, limited game play. Get the P.C version, I have it and Sims Pets and Seasons. It's much more realistic, better looking, and fun. You can have children, teens and babies in the p.c version. Much better.
The console version's colours are incredibly ugly, and to bright. The PC version is more detailed, a precise, making it look beautiful. Gett he PC version, it's a million times better.
:D
Eh, Idk then.
I might just buy it for ps2 for very cheap from amazon
And besides, I can't play a PC game if my life depended on it :vlol:
I can't stand the arrow keys

You can live their lives from cradle to grave (they age in the PC version, but not in any of the console versions). You can all in love, get married, have kids, inherit money, get into private schools, get jobs, earn money. It's basically a life simulator :)
The Sims on console: BEEP. You'll hate it forever.
PC: A genius and incredibly addictive game.
The Sims 2: Awesome, you can play it on for months without getting bored. :wve: You start by creating a family of Sims (the computer people), 1-8 members can exist in one family. You may make them any way you like, except if the sim is under adult age you must have one related to it. Next you move them in a ready house or create your own, then you furnish your house and etc. (You can get as creative as you like with the money cheat. Otherwise you have to start small and earn your way up.) Then you give your Sims a career or make them go to school, and they have mood bars which you must fill up in order for them not to die. To do this you will need certain furniture, like for hunger you need a stove, a fridge, or a phone (to order food.) Then for energy you need a bed, so they can get their beauty sleep. You can also do something else in bed, that's why it's rated teen. :pi: But let's not go too far into the matter, you need it to make kids not in TS1 though, there you just kiss to do that. Then there's relationships, sims have a relationship menu which shows how much they like/love/hate other sims. You gain it by interacting with other sims.
You can not make sims do things like kiss unless their relationship level is under 60 think. (?) There's loads of other stuff about TS that I won't get into because I'm not here to write a gaming guide. :p I'm just trying for you to get the idea.
It's an awesome game, with loads of cool expansion packs when you get bored. ;) I hope I gave enough info because that was not a short paragraph. :pi:
The Sims (1/original): It's hard to play for a long time since it gets a bit pointless, it's basically the same as TS2, but worse graphics, camera angles etc. and your Sims don't age. It has a certain charm to me though. :)
I can't stand the arrow keys
You need almost nothing but your mouse, I only use the 1,2,3 buttons to change the speed of time, but there's buttons you can click for that too. (It's slower but still.)
So what your saying is: The sims 2 pets has bad graphics on ps2?
I don't really care about the graphics though.
I really liked the sims on console... it was fun.. challenging.. and just fun!
Imo.. you should get whichever one you feel is right for you... Just because someone else says something is horibble.. doesn't mean it will be the same for you!
Thanks for the advice :)
I am not really a picky person when it comes to games besides tomb raider :p
I don't mind if there are bad graphics. All I wanted to know was what you do in the game. And if it is appropriate for me to play, so my mum won't fuss about it, or be concerned.
And this whole thread became a "Don't buy it on console!" thread. When I just wanted to know what the game is about.
So I take it, all you do is take care of pets, feed them, walk them, customize them... also, can you drive cars?

Pretty much. But like I said, you can do A LOT more with the Pc version and the PC is by far a lot more fun.
As for cars, you can't drive them, but you can buy them if you have the Nightlife expnsion pack for the PC. :)
i love the sims on pc...!!!!! omg!! yer ps2 sims 2 is TERRIBLE!!!!!!! ...
anyho... i just like to construct houses.. i dont play it for the living part! :D

Oh, ok :)
Oh and with the console versions you can only have one floor. No stairs, elavators, basements or anything... but with the PC, you can have 4 floors above ground and an unlimited number of floors below ground (not advisable to make more than one below the ground because the camera won't go down all the way ;)

You don't use the arrow keys to move you use your mouse you click on a spot and click run here (or walk)
But you use the analog stick for ps2?

But you use the analog stick for ps2?
For the Ps2 you have direct control over them (in other words you use the analog stick), but for the PC you use the mouse (you click an area and click walk/run here). You only use the arrow keys to move the camera.
Ok. Thanks for all the comments guys :)

I liked the one for the PS2. Alot of memory though. I haven't played the PC version. Games too expensive.

ARGH, DIDN'T YOU READ MY HUMUNGOUS POST?! :p
I wouldn't worry about your mom, it's not too inaproppriate, they never show any nakedness, they even do it in underwear. All that happens is they hide under the covers together, the bed rocks and sparks fly everywhere. :p

*Gasp* Theres one in the car and the elevator?! *Loads Sims*

I Agree.
The first Sims game on Console had bad graphics and the camera was too far out. Bustin' Out was a perfect Sims game. Had a wide range of things to buy and do.
The Urbs was awful. Bad loadings, and everything was just wrong.
The Sims 2 & The Sims 2 Pets are also awful. Slow, and I don't like the character designs.
But this is my opinion. Dont judge things by what others have said. :)
Well, anyway, what do you do in that game?

in the console version they cant age, have kids, , start buisnesses, go on holiday, go downtown, have a family, have weather or go to university. But you can do all of that on pc
Just seen an advert on Tv for the sims2 Castaway... not usually a fan of the sims, since i thought they were all pretty samey... but this actually looks really good, I'm glad they've done something new.

With all the expansions, yes. But you need a pretty good machine to cope with that: The base game and just one EP is about 5GB hard disk space...

which shows just how big the game is;)
there is just so much to do on the pc version!

there is just so much to do on the pc version!Actually, a lot of the space is taken up by the textures for the objects (and more or less) everything in the game.

Not just the graphics, please, the console version of pets is crap, i have it here and I can't stand it, the PC is 10000000000x better :D
