View Full Version : CD should take a look at this!
I think the new Ubi game Assassin`s Creed will be a blast. CD should should serriously take this game as an example and also as an inspiration. It`d be great if Lara is capable of such free running skills while exploring the enviros of TR8. Also I`ve always dreamt of an arabesque location present in a Tomb Raider game, just imagine what can be achieved with todays technology: deserted towns and temples in the desert, wind blowing, sand covering everything, palms everywhere... also one of the new wonders of the world i.e. Ancient Town of Petra could serve as a great source of inspiration.
Here`s a gameplay vid of Assassin`s Creed taking place in the town of Akar:

and a pic of Petra:

(I`d be most grateful if a MOD embeds the video and the pic :) )

And ontopic, hell yes - I'd love to see that type of interaction in Tomb Raider. Albeit, in more Tomb Raidery environments. The inside of caves, up subterranean temple walls - that sort of thing. :tmb:
One thing I'm always wondering about when I see threads like these: What makes you think that CD isn't already looking at this? I assume that they (like any other company) watch the market and what their competitors are doing already, and they are certainly trying to find what ideas could work in Tomb Raider as well.
On topic: Sure, why not?
I agree with you 100%. Assassin's Creed will be one of the best games of the year. It's engine is fabulous. I love the NPC's addition, also the free running skills and multiple ways of completing a level. It's one of the games I have... like a goal in life to play (lol :p) Anyway... I doubt CD could even dream of making something like that. It's beyond their level ;)

I definetly would love to see Lara go to Petra in one of the futur games. Am not saying this just because its in my country (2.5 hours away from my home to be precise), it really is a world wonder, simply fantastic and breath taking. I suggest anyone who's never been to Petra and doesnt know it that well and wanna go see it, DONT SEE ANY PICTURE OR READ ANY ARTICLE, just go there and be prepared for magnificent architectural surprices. I am also hoping Petra will appear in the Amazing Race season 12 which is coming out next year. I dont get it, Jordan is safe, unlike Lebanon,Palestine or Iraq, and its unlike any other middle eastern country (I mean from the sites and places point of view. Life style here, well, its a 3rd world country so dont expect sth like Europe or USA...still, its really nice) so, yeah,I'd love to see it in TR.
/\ Wow... It really seems amazing  Go Lara, go!! :D
It TR can have that much interaction, I'd be in Tomb Raider heaven.
controls would have to change drastically, and "invisible walls" would need to be dimished.
I can't remember a game not having an invisible wall :p :pi: There's always something cut that can't be fully deleted! it's a game not real life! Games have bugs :D
CD + Eidos would need a hundred years of experiences to do this. UBIsoft FOR LIFE!

Petra would be great as a location! TR needs more famous landmarks / wonders of the world. I love the middle-eastern style too, so long as they don't over POP it (as much as I love POP). And interaction, is, for me, the most important thing that needs improvement.

Wow. A game that has actually got me excited about buying a next gen console. I hadn't paid much attention to new games recently so it'd passed me by. If future Tomb Raiders could have that level of interactivity then I'd send Eidos and CD a huge box of chocolates and flowers and fruit. :D
And Petra looks great. I remember it from Indiana Jones. :tmb:
Whatever you people say I agree

Remember Tom Raider Last Revelation? Assassin's Creed may be new as far as the gameplay is concerned, but I think the environment derives a lot from TRLR...
