Hi,
I thought i'd ask some pros. for some assistance, since i am intending on buying a prossessor to run Crysis much more faster.
My price range would have to be between £100-£200 and it must be better than my current prossessor (Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz). Also it must go in a 775 socket.

There are two which i have looked at which i think are alright but unsure which one to get:

The first one has more clock speed but the second one has double Cache memory... help! :o

Thanks in advance! :)

More cores are better for games like Crysis, Alan Awake and these which support 4+ cores.

Personally, I'd choose the one with the higher clock speed and 2 cores.

The second one has 4 cores, but in truth, the gain when going from 2 to 4 cores is not as large as going from 1 to 2 cores. See: http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1558,2209093,00.asp?kc=ETRSS02129TX1K0000532

But if it were me, I'd just get an Allendale and OC it as high as it can safely go:

Id choose the first one because of the high frequency and higher clock speed but as apofiss said the second one will handle games like crysis better

^ You forgot one important part - video board. TRL Next Gen is highly VB dependant. Other parts are OK :)
