Okay, so christmas is coming :D, my dad said y dont you get a ps3 or a wii ?? i have a xbox 360 anyway but i dont no weather to get a Wii or PS3 ? I Think the wii is more fun and differrent but not many good games, but the ps3 if similar to the xbox 360 but better ( so i heard ) so what do you all think i get ps3 or Wii ? PLease Help Thanks :ton::ton:

Depends on what you prefer. Wii's games are definitely more original and they're fun to play with friends or family. PS3, however, offers more graphically and tehnically advanced games. :)

It's up to you I think. :) But since you already have an Xbox 360 I think the PS3 is quite similar to it so I would get a Wii. :) :wve:

I'd say Wii if I thought you'd be able to get your hands on one in time for Xmas. ;)
PS3 is actually much better than Wii. I have a Wii, and I just don't like it that much

But if I had to make a decision, than PS3 (I'll buy one soon:D).
Wii is much fun than PS3. PS3 is also a ripoff in my view:hea:

Sony is dying out and the PS3 isn't doing well.
I am not even a Nintendo fan, but the Wii happens to be at the top now. It not only looks and plays great, it is the cheapest of them all. PS3 days are over.
Eidos and CD were aware of this (as many game developers) and this is why the TRA Wii edition recieved such special attention and new additions. Wii seems to be the future.

No, I think what you are saying is true. Nintendo took a risk, I'm sure they are ****ing glad they did. The Wii has current gen graphics and is still at the top. Well done Nintendo IMO. PS3 & Xbox 360 seem a bit plain compared to it.
If you want the PS3 because of the games that are not coming out for XBOX 360 then go for it. Or if you want to have fun with every game you play, Wii.
Since you got a 360...i would say wii. I think ps3's quality does not justifies it's price.:wve:

Thats not true, the Ps3, last month, for the first time ever knocked the Wii off the top spot in Japan,
Also the sales of Ps3 have doubled since the 40Gb release,
Not to mention that Sony have slashed the price of the Ps3 dev kit by 50% so that game developers can pick it up for cheaper,
But
Saying that i also find the Wii an amazing console and seeing as though you already have a 360, and the Ps3 doesnt have that many exclusives as of yet, i'm backing Wii,
although it will be difficult to get hold of one by Christmas

I'd go with the Wii.. Well actually I am, most probably, getting it for Christmas. :D First console since the good old NES(that we got even before I was born, like somewhere around 1988.. :whi:), woohoo! :jmp:

(Still I can't but wonder how people here actually get money/approval for new consoles & games so easily.. Seems like everyone's parents are willing to buy every new apparatus their kids request here. Err, or is it just my parents who are a bit "conservative" and "doubtful" towards these expensive things and think they're mostly for boys under twelve-years old? At least my mother doesn't really understand.. Not that she's [i]against any, just gives that weird "aren't those silly" -look and rolls eyes if she sees dad playing Pacman or something.. Ah well, off-topic! Still, I'm interested.. :p Or do you pay partly yourself? Have less Christmas[or any other event] presents if you get something expensive? What about the games then, it's not just the console that costs.. O.o ... I wonder if I should make a topic. XD)
Xbox360 & PS3 are too expensive and.. err.. kinda dully realistic, sober-sides, serious(can't invent the right words here but you get the idea XD) for my liking, I don't know.. I've always kinda preferred Nintendo's games. "Simple", neat yet fun & challenging in their own ways. :)
Ah well, it's individual and highly depends what kinds of games you like to play.. But as you already have the Xbox (that I find quite similar to PS3 - well what do I know, just so I've heard and in my opinion pretty much seems so?) I vote for Wii! ^_^
Go for what seems more interesting to you. I'd go for PS3. But that's simply cause I need the console for more stuff than just games. I actually would watch movies, check the web and stuff like that. Plus I prefer the game selection on PS3 so yeh. :)

(this is a little offtopic but) I agree with you, i am surprised by how my friends will just go to their parents (not even for Christmas or birthday just becuase they want it, and ask for something expensive like an Ipod or something and get it no questions asked, I have to pay about 3/4ths of my PS3 and games for Christmas. And it is the only thing I am getting for Christmas as well so our parents think alike. I had to earn my money to so I have earned the PS3 (I earned it by babysitting, painting my uncles house etc)

If you're a 'just for fun gamer', buy a Wii.:)
If you're more serious, and want to play the cutting edge stuff, buy a PS3/XB360, both are amazing machines.:cln:
If you're smart, buy a PS2: very cheap, most games ever, and still on top and well supported.;)

They like to keep me happy with as many ways as possible. But that doesn't mean I'm spoiled. Hell no. I help them in any ways I can. I'm not a lazy ******* like some other teens who get what ever they want by just begging. I ask a time and then we have a discussion wrether or not I should get it. Usually my dad agrees to buy me something though. :]

The wii isn't just for casual gamers, it's for hardcore gamers too,
do you think that a casual gamer will just come along and get stuck into over 40 hours of adventuring in Zelda : Tp, or they will jsut jump in headfirst into Metroid 3?
The answer is no, while the Wii does cater for casual gamers more than the Ps3/360 does, that doesnt mean that it only has games for casual gamers

TOPIC CREATOR: I PM'd you my answer... I'll not fuel this budding fanboy war by posting it here! I own all 3 consoles... and I've given you my considered opinion based on first-hand knowledge.
Apples and oranges. I think that says it all.
However considering you already have a 360 I'd say wii, but it all depends on your tastes. Noone can say what YOU would like better.

When did this happen? Sony has plans for the PS3 (i.e. Home) that are going to revolutionize gaming... Just because they didn't choose to rush everything, like Microsoft, does not make it a bad system. When it comes to the console war, Microsoft is in last place already, because of all of the money they've lost from sending out faulty systems.
Anyway, when it comes to the choice of Wii or PS3, I would pick the PS3. However, the Wii version of Anniversary is fun, too! :D

Okay, congrats on your decision! Hope you have fun with it. :)
The Wii is a very interesting and original concept, but if you, like me, play video games to relax, it probably isn't for you. I'm sure it can be a lot of fun, but it's a much more active console, and it's really for mucking about and having a bit of fun.
The PS3 is totally different. Unlike the Wii, the PS3 is high-end in terms of graphics (it probably has the best graphics of any console at the moment, beaten only by super-high-end PC graphics cards). The PS3 is really for hardcore, serious gaming. It's more expensive, too.

it's all well and good trying to get the guy to buy a Wii instead but i ask you this simple question
what if he actually wants to play games on PS3 that AREN'T on 360??? power wise they are similar, but games wise both have something the other doesn't....
at the end of the day the poster will make the right choice, HIS choice, the bias against PS3 is getting old, so old i see mould growing.
that's what people in this thread are forgetting, PS3 games that AREN'T on 360

I am stating what I would do. I do not hate Playstation. I do have a Playstation 2 after all, and i bought it when it first came out, after having played PS1. I am simply stating what I would do. For me the 360 and the PS3 are to similar for me to justify spending more money on a PS3 when i already have a 360, and so far, there are not many games for it that would tip me over the edge to get it. The Wii on the other hand is a totally different ball game.

There is no point owning 360 and PS3 unless you want the exclusives for PS3 reallllyy badly. (Final Fantsay Metal Gear Team ICO's next game etc) and if thats the case I recommend selling your 360 and getting the PS3 instead. The exclusives list for the 360 pales in comparison IMO.
If you are not desperate to get your hands on the exclusives for PS3 then go for the Wii. Its kinda pointless to own the PS3 aand 360. fact. :wve:
