I have decided to open up a thread about one of my favorite games of all time ECCO THE DOLPHIN: DEFENDER OF THE FUTURE on the SEGA DREAMCAST.
For me this game was TOMB RAIDER underwater and featured not only the best graphics EVER at the time but some of the underwater locations and level design was as good as any TOMB RAIDER game. The music was very Tomb Raider esque and made the game feel very atmospheric. It was also insanely hard and some levels like Hanging Waters in particular made TOMB RAIDER 3 on PS look like a walk in the park.
interesting. just checked it out on youtube (and saw your comment:vlol:)
never paid much attention to this back in the day, but yeah, i could probably get into this.
unfortunately my DC overheats too much and just cuts out on me.
how good are DC emu's?

Unfortunately the emulation available for DC is poor to be generous and i know what you mean by the DC overheating but believe me this is one of the best games i have ever done and i have been playing them since my Spectrum 128k. No guns, no bullet time, just underwater exploration in caverns, tombs and underwater cities. The music was composed by Tim Follin and the story written by American science fiction author David Brin. Try to imagine ECCO THE DOLPHIN on the MEGA DRIVE/GENESIS but in 3d and INSANELY HARD and you have D.O.T.F
Oh yes! I absolutely loved this game. I still have a DC and it works.
The graphics were stunning.
Hanging Waters was probably the most unique level I have ever seen in an Ecco game.
I have only ever completed this game twice. The puzzles were extremely difficult to solve.
This game was also released on PS2.
I own the Playstation 2 version & I love it!:D It is challanging, beautiful & relaxing to play. Ecco's motion is stunning!:D
