The PS3 Oblivion GOTY edition is realeased here in the UK this December, this version includes The Shivering Isles expansion as well as Knights of the Nine.:D

I already own the original PS3 Oblivion but really want to have the expansion. I can't seem to find out if the standalone disc of The Shivering Isles will be released here in the Uk like it has been recently in the US. Although the GOTY edition is just being released here now, it has been avaialble in the states for longtime. It makes me wonder how long it will take for a standalone Shivering Isles disc to be released here, if ever?:o

I've also heard that if you buy Oblivion GOTY edition your saves from the original game will not work with this edition! So you have to start a fresh. Does anybody know if this is true? Does anybody here own these editions? Shall I pay full price again for the GOTY edition & get the original game pluss the expansion on one disc or wait for the standalone Shivering Isles disc? Why can't they just be released at the sametime so people who have the original can buy the standalone expansion & newcomers can get both in one, it makes sense!:hea:

To be honest, I'd get the GOTY edition. I've got it all on PC, but I would recommend starting a new game for SI anyway, because otherwise it is hardly any fun.

I don't own a PS3, so I don't know if the saves don't work, but I'd imagine they don't, with it being a different game and all.

It is quite silly that you have to wait for the standalone, but even if you wait and get it, you might want to create a new character to go through it with. I tried it both ways, and my character was way too overpowered.

I concur.:tmb:

Plus if you haven't played Knights of the Nine its worth it. It is (imo) the only real module Bethesda has released that rocks. It has some nice custom content and a good story that is well worth the price of admission.

On a side note I usually buy GotY editions for games that I like with expansions as its nice to have everything all together on one or two discs. But that's just me. :)

Knights Of The Nine includes all custom stuff released by Bethsoft. (AFAIK.) :)
