Does anyone know any good industrial, death metal and punk bands?

I have this thing for "Hate Dept" as far as industrial bands go. I'll admit I'm not an industrial music expert by any means.

As far as death metal goes you can't get much better than "Opeth".

Myspace those two bands and have fun :)

I've heard of 45 Grave. It's an old deathrock band, it broke up some years ago. I don't know if you're interested.

punk: simple plan, fall out boy.
death metal: five finger death punch, cradle of filth.
industrial metal: dunno.

best song for five finger death punch is: death before dishonor.
best song for simple plan: shut up.

:D

I'd hardly call that punk, Cradle of Filth are definitely not death metal and industrial isn't just metal.

Anyway as far as death metal goes... I'm not the best person to point out any bands since it's not my fav genre.
Same with punk.

As far as industrial... a few favs:
- Android Lust
- Angelspit
- Combichrist
- Alien Vampires
- Zombie Girl (more EBM than industrial really, not so great if you want heavier stuff)

However, Kamrusepas will probably be able to point out alot more than I could, since I've never bothered to research industrial bands properly... I'm just lazy like that XD

Need advice about music :p, listen to something else?

Just kidding, I use to be in to all that kind of music, but my taste in music changed, so did my attitude and view on life.

ISnt cradle of filt goth rock?

If you absolutely need to label them, then:

Supposedly, their "genre" changed alot throughout the years.

I don't know if Simple Plan count as punk - anything with guitars seem to count as punk these days. Anyhow, I'd name Black Flag or Misfits as punk bands, as I've been recently recommended by a pretty knowledgable source. I personally can't get into them, but the genre's never been my thing.

Heheh, am I the only person who thinks of Cradle of Filth in terms of 'joke' rather than 'band'? D:

Some good industrial stuff, KMFDM, MFDMK, Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, Covenant, Mortiis, Tactical Sekt, Leaether Strip, Funker Vogt.

That's all I can think about at the moment, I'll post more when I know more. :)

Linkin Park

Definitely not. Their older stuff is nu-metal and their newer stuff is more rock then anything else. Fall Out Boy is closer to punk than Linkin Park would be.

Though I didn't think of Puscifer as industrial until you mentioned it, I just thought it was random. :D

I'm an Industrial Queen!!!! My favorite music of all time!!! :D

The Industrial Gods of all time are Nine Inch Nails. But by looking at your other preferences, I'm assuming you want heavier industrial music...

Go for bands like...

Combichrist
Wumpscut
Skinny Puppy

I'd recommend

Combichrist Songs*

-This S*** Will F*** You Up
-Get Your Body Beat
-Intruder Alert
-Sex, Drogen, Und Industrial
-Without Emotions

Wumpscut Songs*

-War (English) Kreig (German)
-Wreath of Barbes
-Jesus Antichristus
-We Believe, We Believe
-Praise Your Fears

Skinny Puppy Songs*

-Optimised
-Pro-Test

They are all amazing bands, I put the heaviest Industrial Songs at the top of each list. Definately go for it, and if you want some NIN recommendations, just ask. :D

Wouldn't Tool be industrial?

Tool has some Industrial implements, but none of them are very prominent. I think Maynard has alot more Industrial vibes in APC and definately Puscifer...

A Perfect Circle Songs*

-Judith (Renholder Mix)
-Counting Bodies Like Sheep (One of the best. ;))

Pusifer Songs*

-The Undertaker
-Rev 22:20

(btw, I haven't gotten the new Puscifer album yet, I've heard some of it and I'm worried its gonna dissapoint. Has anyone heard it yet?)

Ugg, I see alot of people here posting modern pop groups as punk.

Ramones are the Godfathers of PUNK
Misfits
Danzig
Rancid
NoFX
Suicide Machines
Distillers
Social Distortion
Bad Religion
The Damned
Sex Pistols
Agent Orange
The Bouncing Souls
New York Dolls
The Vibrators
The Minutemen
Dead Kennedys
Bad Brains
The Exploited
Black Flag
The Descendents
TSOL
Dance hall crashers
Tsunami Bomb
Underminded
Righteous Jams
The God Awfuls
The getaway
throw rag
xdeathstarx
circle jerks
suffocate faster
h2o
Against All Authority
Dillinger Four
Nobodys
88 Fingers Louie
Heckle
Falling Sickness

There might be a few emo, ska, and heavy metal groups in there that I left in when I went through my Compilations.

Really want to try out some different genre's heres some links to shoutcast internet stations:
http://89.248.241.130:8000 Industrial
http://208.109.250.49:8000 Punk Rock
And a Xiph internet radio station:
http://ic.death.fm:80/dfm128k.ogg Death.F(******) Metal Mixed Rock

On linux I'm using XMMS to listen to those stations, and streamtuner has a whole list of them.
I'm not sure if Windows has an equivalent program to streamtuner, but I believe you would use WinAmp to play the stations, just find a menu option to "play location" and paste one of those addresses in there!

Ummm A good punk band is Sum 41. Have you heard or listen to them?
Damn, I hate it when people classify mainstream groups as Punk. Very few true punk rock groups are widely known due to the fact that by definition they go against the mainstream. Some older bands are well known by many because they were around during the time that Punk was more popular. These days it lives and breathes in the underground. Those bands that you see on MTV/2 the Box etc. with sounds reminiscent of punk are either sellouts or are just plain produced. No self disrespecting punk would stand for that. Even Rancid with their latest toned down POP sounding CD and video have sold out but their early **** rocks. Let's let things be what they are and call these pop(ular) groups exactly that! Don't get me wrong I'd love to see punk rock make a come back, but not at the expense of producers coming in and changing the style.

I've heard it and it hasn't disappointed me, just don't listen to it with Tool or APC in mind. Some of my favourite tracks so far are Momma Sed, Trekka, Queen B, Indigo Children and, erm, ****** Mine. A few of the songs take a couple of listens to get into - Queen B, for example, which I was sceptical of when I first heard it - but it's a pretty fascinating, atmospheric album overall. Have a rummage round YouTube and all the tracks should be on there. :)
