For us Windows XP users this is quite nice. Great for those of us that use XP for school and work.

After a disappointing showing by Windows Vista SP1 (see previous post (http://exo-blog.blogspot.com/2007/11/vista-sp1-performance-dud.html)), we were pleasantly surprised to discover that Windows XP Service Pack 3 (v.3244) delivers a measurable performance boost to this aging desktop OS. Testing with OfficeBench showed an ~10% performance boost vs. the same configuration running under Windows XP w/Service Pack 2.

Interesting. I wonder how much more gaming will support XP in the next year?

Iím sure XP will be supported for years because video game designers want to make their money. People just need a nice processor, enough ram, and a great graphics card for hardware demanding games.

Oldie. Don't rush to install SP3 RC yet. It can cause conflicts with your system (many people had problems with that already). Just wait til it gets stable when they release it finally and you can download it

Don't expect any DirectX 10 in this Service Pack.

Who wants directX 10 ≫--------Direction-------≫ Vista ! :whi:

DirectX 10 is compatible only with vista doesn't matter which xp sp you have it won't work. But some hackers made a port for directx based on winxp but it's illegal :D

Nope, there is a legal version but unofficial, and unfortunately it doesn't work with all the DX10 games on XP.

Bill Gates from Micro$oft is making all this new software thatís just bloated and shinier. I donít need shiny graphics. I might use Fendora or Ubuntu when XP support runs out just because Bill Gates is getting greedy with money. Lol :p

Itís probably good for people that just work, shop, research etc. I play most games on console so itís good for me.

Great to hear! I'm glad I stuck to XP with a Vista brico-pack instead of buying a $150 piece of crap. ;)
