I have been writing tomb raider stories from 2000. After the first movie I started writing my first script about Lara and the water of life. It was interesting but because I had vampires in it turned into smt else... After the second movie I started working on the story I'm finishing now... So after nearly 4 years I'm proud to say that I have finished the first part of a two part story.
It is everything a fan would want -at least to me-
I have tried to make it as realistic as possible so -sorry- but no monsters appear. an early draft had mummies and a monster on each temple but it end up been a bit silly and because I wanted a serious story I cut them up... there are however a lot of smart traps take by some of the games and worldwide mythology. What I'm mostly proud of is the fact that this script connects the games and the movies and also the first 2 movies too. I have -my- explanations of where is Alex West and also about the illuminati. The main villain is a woman but there are other enemies that are hidden in the first part. And they have better reasons rather than just become masters of the universe…
I have a few flashbacks -although in screenwriting lessons told me not to use them- where we learn interesting facts about Lara. The working title for me was Apocalypse -since its about the end of the world- but because Resident Evil used it I changed it to "LARA CROFT TOMB RAIDER THE BEGINNING OF THE END" and I’m not gonna say the second's part title because it would spoil too much. Even if nothing happens with this script -although I'm hoping that the production will start in 2009- laugh all you want -I know it's gonna happen-
I will say that in the first part she will visit Egypt -with a fantastic temple and traps- and Greece in an underworld temple with a twist...
What is great about this story is that I have been working on it for so many years and in the meantime I went to Egypt -I am from Greece- and my sis went in some other places and I have a clear view rather than just writing hypothetically. Also I have been reading since I was a kid Greek mythology and Chinese and Egyptian and I have used them to create a new fantastic story that could easily become a great video game or a comic book!
