Help needed by PS3 owners

I have a 40gig PS3 and I'm not sure if I need to take it back to the store or if my games are buggy. I have Drake's Fortune and Ratchet and Clank and sometimes they freeze up on me. Drake doesn't really freeze but the game just stops and it says that the disk isn't even inserted into the system. So I have to eject it and then put it back in. Ratchet does freeze up from time to time though.

Do you think it's the games or the system?

If it happens with both games, then I'm 99.9% sure its a faulty system.

I just wonder how common this problem is or if I'm the only one. I'd hate to go get a whole new system and have the same problem.

My brother-in-laws 40gb was having problems too. It wouldn't read any kind of disc. Not blueray, game, dvd, music cd. He couldn't return it because it's been a week after he got it which is total bs. So it could be the system and I also read on the ps forums that the 40gb were having problems.

Oh yeah, you have a problem. You will have to take it back. It is something with the Blue Ray Laser.

I don't have R&C but I have Uncharted and I haven't experienced anything like that yet.

Ok. I'm taking it back tomorrow and upgrading to the 60gig
