i didn't watch the later seasons.......i have no idea what happened in seasons 7,8,9 although i caught the occasional episode (that's why i bought the complete seasons 1-9 boxset :D
watching the boxset,i was surprised at just how many episodes during and after season 3 i never saw :eek:
my next dvd to watch is season 7 disc 4 :D

I want to know how they are going to bring Mulder back on a case when at the end of the Series he is in hiding after escaping death row! I know the film is not going to involve the Conspiracy... but it's kind of weird, him suddenly being accepted back into government work as an escaped convict... right?

I don't think he's 'back in the FBI' persay, he may have a different identity. Or maybe he is, and something may even have "wiped the slate clean."

i haven't seen The Truth, so i don't know how it ends......i have seen bits of it via special features on the Movie dvd........however
maybe in the off air years he was cleared of any wrong doing and now simply lives a quiet life as a civilian (we know he nor Scully no longer work for the FBI) :D
According to the official plotline they´re still on the run when the movie starts and Mulder´s gonna wear a disguise to get to some places at the beginning of the movie.

I'd be jealous, too. This show has blew my mind. It has some really brilliant episodes, you think it's not going to get any better and then a huge twist develops and I'm sitting there with my mouth wide open. It's just fantastic. :D

in other news, Chris Carter say's a 3rd movie will only be made if this one performs VERY well at the boxoffice.........probably a mytharc movie as to wrap up that storyline, due around 2012 ;) that leaves plenty of time for script and story treatments

Actually CC said he would like to make more movies anyway no matter how much the second one earns in box office :). And he gave Annabeth Gish and Robert Patrick his word that they´re gonna be in the next one :jmp:

great..........i'll pass on that one then, can't say i like those characters, i don't like change, they'll never fill M & S shoes imo.........a Duchovney-less X-files is the reason i stopped watching, for me the dynamic had gone and Scully felt lost...........nope, i seriously don't like Reyes and Dogget lol
I haven't seen any of Season 8 or 9, but The X Files wouldn't be the same without Scully and Mulder.

I thought I was going to be the same way when they brought on Robert Patrick. I hated him at first, but then he kind of grew on me and I started to really like his and Annabeth's relationship. It was a tough adjustment, but I couldn't stop watching my favorite show! :D Especially with the hope of Duchovs coming back.

the Dogget character was a legitimate addition to the series..." not giving spoilers away" i did see the season 8 opener then gave up....and i never bothered with season 9 at all......the only agents capable of investigating x-files is Fox Mulder & Dana Scully.
i'll give season 9 a fair chance though when i've watched season 8.........watching final disc of season 7 in a bit:D

Please do! :D There are actually some VERY good episodes involving Doggett and Reyes. Though I'm sure we all agree that they will absolutely NEVER be able to take Scully and Mulder's places... they actually don't do a bad job filling in the void for just a bit ;)

I really enjoyed the X-Files, and loved the mythical/creature episodes. I know Aliens were part of the show, but I didnt enjoy the way it went all Alien top heavy towards the end.
Nice to know they are making another film. Is it all about Aliens like the first film ?

ok,i've re-evaluated the situation and believe the series could have gone into a 10th season, the new agents have potentiall but it still wouldn't be the same without Mulder :(
regarding the new movie, i don't think Mulder & Scully are together as a couple,the reason i say this is because,having wathched the whole dvd set,Mulder has the uncanny ability of putting Scully's life at risk, given a choice also that Scully had to make in season (blank) i wouldn't be surprised if the pair have parted ways as a reault. it could explain her reluctance to help Mulder on the case in the new movie.

Watched three episodes last night, all things, Brand X and Hollywood A.D.
all things was a bit weird tonally, compared to all other X-Files episodes. I guess it has something to do with the fact that Gillian wrote and directed it (kudos to her btw :tmb:). It was great to get some new backstory on Scully, although I must say I was shocked by it. :) Overall though I thought it was unique, interesting and....excellent :D
And OMG!! what a teaser!
Brand X wasn't great although Tobin Bell is hella' creepy :yik:
Hollywood A.D. was good, but it could've been a lot funnier, which is the angle they should have played up. Garry Shandling as Mulder > :vlol: The resolution of the case (Hoffman and O'Fallon) was a bit swift and "thrown in" at the end, which I didn't like.

It just added a little bit of backround for CGB Spend... eh I mean CSM. I agree that it was boring but nothing was supposed to happen because these kinds of episodes are just little probes into the souls of some characters :). But yeah it wasn´t exactly good.

It was actually ending for The Lone Gunmen TV series and it had nothing to do with The X Files. They just put that into the 9th season because The Lone Gunmen show ended before the episode was shot and they were not able to shoot it at the time. Whole TLG TV series were exactly like that (cheesy and clichéd) so it just kept the tone of the series :).
Oh... That explains why it didn't have that qualitative X Files touch :)

Like I said, I hated him at first, but as much as I didn't want to admit it, he just started to grow on me! I had a feeling the same would happen for you! ;) So many people just gave up on the show when David took off for a bit, but if they would've just given the new man a chance, they would have probably come to the same conclusion! I ended up really appreciating Doggett's role in the series by the end. Happy watching! :tmb:

You're surprised by that? :p nah, you're right.. the whole plane scene is very well made, how he's carried off and the lights just before it..
Especially when people are getting sucked out of the plane, I was like "How did they do that?" :eek:

After four years I officialy finished watching whole series again. It took six months app. one episode per day :).
Watched The Truth last night... I couldn´t stop thinking about the second movie but the end brought me to tears again... such great and touching ending to this brilliant show.

It seems they´re trying to keep everything secret as long as possible but the trailer HAS to be online anytime now! The premiere is in three months and we haven´t seen any official trailer yet!
Two weeks ago Frank Sponitz said the trailer should be available in two weeks... that was two weeks ago. Tomorrow or never.

Actually it was said that Friday screenings of Iron Man will have brand new trailers attached. The trailer was not before todays screening we just have to wait and see.

done more investigating and sorry but i was right, no XF2 trailer with Ironman.
it is speculated it will be attached to Indiana Jones 4 instead, although made by Paramount,Indy 4 is distributed by FOX, plus an XF2 trailer for some reason isn't ready.....

I've just registered. ;) Had a look through the gallery. Gillian looks so different with long hair. It's wierd! She looks great though! David is sadly starting to look a little old... but he is still gorgeous ;)
It seems like FOX is intentionaly trying to kill this movie BEFORE it even comes out! They have the trailer READY and poor Spotnitz promised the trailer will be here already. They´re trying to kill it but they won´t succeed anyway... anyone who´s seen the crowds on both Con´s and in Paley fest knows this movie has no chance of bombing in the box offfice.

I must say that aside from Roadrunners, the stand-alones weren't among the best this season, but the over-reaching arc more than made up for that.
Fav episodes include Per Manum - Excellent episode that created a helluva lot of doubt.
This is not happening & Deadalive - My thoughts can easily be summed up by two smilies...:yik: and :jmp:
Vienen - An interesting twist on an already well developed plot device.
Essence & Existence - What a thrillride! The two most exciting episodes in X-files histroy.
High points:
Billy Miles' return as a "supersoldier" was fantastic....so scary! Wonderfully played by the actor. The entire two-parter had an uneasy sense of menace, much of which I feel is due to the character change.
Monica - It was great to see Reyes again. As I had done with Doggett, I had completely misjudged the character and am quite fond of her now.
Kryceks return :eek:!! And Skinner riddling him with holes :yik:! Fan-tastic!
Doggett and Reyes sticking it to that ******* Kersh.:tmb:
I enjoyed the somewhat..contrived parallel to Jesus' birth.
Mulder and Scully's kiss at the end :jmp: Awwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!

That is indeed the question. Do they ever really come out and answer that?
Of course Mulder sort of acts as father and Scully later refers to William as "our son" when speaking with Mulder... but is he really the biological father?? William sure has some interetesting things about him that would suggest otherwise..

I don't know what it is... but it feels like the show isn't a "widescreen" show, and it's obvious that the show wasn't meant to be in widescreen. Part of people's heads are cut off at the top.
