I connect to Xbox Live through an ethernet cable. I take out the wires from the modem, leaving in the power wire. Plug in the etheret cable to the back, switch the modem off and then back on. Then I switch on my Xbox 360 and it works.

I don't see how it's illegal?

Because you have to pay money to get your Xbox360 live wireless. :)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but there's absoluetly no point in trying to go online with a PS2. None of the games are internet games, are they? If they are, i've missed alot! :tea:

It's not free cause your still paying for the connection for your pc, and your like 6 years late, I as doing this back in 2002 with an xbox and pc using to PCI network cards..., and you can use an ethernet connect for console and pc, it's called windows ICS...

Considering the 360's wireless adapter thingy is around 80quid it is kinda free. I mean, some people have different internet connections. Some pay, others dont :pi:

Doesn't that defeat the object of wireless? Plugging in an Ethernet cable would not be wireless, but wired :p

And why have you started Typing Like This All The Time?

It's still useful if your console is in a different room from the rest of your house and you don't want to lay long cables everywhere. But honestly, why can't they make consoles with wifi built-in? That should be standard these days.

The room where the modem is in my house is directly above my room with the 360 in, so it was easier to just drill a little hole in the ceiling and use an ethernet cable.

Hey, it saved me £55. ;)
