Ridiculous. Just because amazing DOA4 had a Halo character in it doesn't mean that they need to have Star Wars characters in SC to make it an amazing game.

Really GREAT easter egg characters, IMO. Darth Vader will be PS3-bound while Yoda will be 360-bound. Aside from the color likenesses (what with PS3 and Darth Vader's black color; 360 and Yoda's green and white colors), I wonder how they decided about who goes where.
Since I only have a 360 (as of now :pi:), yay for Yoda!

i'm not a fan of namco's method of 'you get this exclusive, and you get that exclusive'
i would rather they just designed an extra character and gave it to all platform owners so that it truly is the same game.

So very wrong. The only SC games to have guest characters out of all 5 games are soul calibur 2 and 4.
I agree that it will be fun to play as them, but i cant help but feel that the atmosphere of the game will be compramised.

I'm glad Amy is coming back, she's ok. I play as Amy when I want a real challenge in SC3, because she hasn't got the greatest moves. But she is very cute!

Mi-Na was confirmed to return around late Jan, whereas Xianghua was shown around late Feb. ;)
As for Amy, well she was a bonus character in the console version of SCIII so that's why she didn't have good moves. But she was a main character in the arcade version with a revamped and better moveset. So I'm sure she will have those awesome moves in SCIV. :)

There's no mention of an arcade version. However it could be like SCIII, where an arcade version will come out after the console versions.

on SC2 on ps2.. Charade was the one stealling moves. Not necrid. He had that weird ball thing that morphed into weapons.

personally I prefer 2. IT has betterfighting and more fun. The 3rd iritates me, yes more characters but it's just 'CHRONICLES OF THE SWORD' the whole time :(

SC3 was a bit unbalanced. Balancing issues are a very important key factor in fighting games. I'd have to go with SC2 being my favorite so far. Giving each game a special character corresponding to the console it was on was a great idea. I don't know how I feel about playing as Darth Vadar or Yoda. Maybe if they introduced Master Chief and (Can't think of anyone from PS right now but there is definitely a list of characters that could have been picked), I'd accept the special characters more. At least it would make more sense as to why they are in each individual game.

Here's my thoughts on them:
Zasalamel has his hood back. Nice!
Maxi's is same old same old. Blonde hair and shirtless. Nothing new...apart from nice tattoos.
Ivy's in nice and purple, she looks pretty cool, noble as always.
Talim's is er...bad. They made her...blonde...
Kilik's hair colour is slighty different. The outfit ain't too bad.
Yunseong's is pretty nice. Looks better without the bandana.
Cervantes' 2P from SC1 is back with a few changes too. Not bad.
Cassandra's is sorta like her older 1P outfits just greenish. I really like.
Astaroth's classic costume is back as his 2P! I like his new look a lot more though.
Setsuka's 2P is really hilarious. She looks like Mary Poppins! Guess that hints are her being English then? I can see it now, one of her victory poses has her using her umbrella to fly away. LMFAO!!

It's excellent! Everything is so much better than SC3....and I mean everything! Character Creation really is 500 times better...
And Vader is awesome!!!! I had high doubts about him, but I was so wrong!
I've bought SC4, played it for an hour and my PS3 decided to overheat. :rolleyes:
Still, the game is awesome, though I'm a little disappointed about the new anime girls being clone-ish (at least the two I've unlocked so far are) and the very short Story Mode. The fighting is still great though, and I'm gonna try out Character Creation later. :D

Jeez this game is amazing.
The story mode may be short, and I miss the little story mode from SC3 that you could run with your created character, this game is still amazing.
The Character Creation alone makes this game worth buying...you can now edit almost all of the standard characters (not the face, physique, ya know), and then the entirely new creations you can come up with....it's spectacular :jmp:
I recently bought a new 42" 1008p flat screen, so needless to say I am SO thankful I got the TV before the game, because I can't image playing this game on anything else :cln:

Not just for guest characters.
I'm enjoying the game a lot, but... It is very, very similar to earlier games. Just the earlier games with better graphics. The story is non-existant...
However, gameplay is FUN and addictive, so if you liked the earlier games, you will like this. :)

Yes you can :)! you get their base model and can alter all the clothes and hair. Its pretty cool!

1. Yeah, her moves are a lot better now. She has two moods. Jolly, where she's all happy and cheery. And Gloomy, where she's real ****ed. Both these moods affect her moveset as well. She's more like a breakdancer in this one as well, rather than ballet-ish like she used to be. Personally I find her more fun to play in her Gloomy mood because she does a lot more damage than in Jolly mood. Although when in Gloomy mood, she can hurt herself, so it's best to be careful when using her in that mood. :)
2. Ivy's 2P outfit isn't the admiral outfit. However I'm pretty sure there's an outfit that looks "admiralish" when you're customising your characters, so you can put her into an outfit like that, so need not worry! :D Although I personally didn't like the admiral outfit. :p
3. Yep, Amy's a main character just like she was in the Arcade Edition of SCIII. :) I find her more fun to play as than Raphael in this too, there moves are more different now.
However, you have to buy Amy (along with many other characters), rather than unlocking her with the gold you earn whilst playing the game. Didn't take me long to buy all the characters, once I got the game I played Story with Tira. Then I played Arcade with her, and after that I played Story with Ivy. After I did that, I had more than enough gold to unlock all the characters. :) So it won't take you long to get Amy. :)

So I decided I was going to unlock The Apprentice last night. All was going great, until I faced him. It took me 25 mins to beat him :o He's was so incredibly cheap, and because Vader is a little slow, he kept going in for the kill.
And I'm really good with fighting games....especially SC..

I am yet to play one decent ****ing person online so far. People just cheat on it, repeating moves over and over or just flip you off the end straight away. It's actually a bit **** that people are playing like this rather than having proper fights.

Oh no, it won't take you long. Play Story Mode a few times and earn enough gold. Then you can buy all the characters that are greyed out in this screen.

The only characters you need to unlock are, Algol (from playing against him in Story) The Apprentice (by beating Arcade Mode with Yoda/Vader). There's always a bonus character on Level 3 of Story Mode the character depending on who you are, to unlock say, Angol Fear, just beat her. :)
You're probably thinking who's in-between Yoda and The Apprentice in that pic. Well apparently there was a video on YouTube of Darth Vader as well fighting against Yoda. So I guess he's going there. Downloadable content maybe?

A lot, I used to main her in SCII. When I started playing her in SCIV I was so annoyed with the change that I can't be bothered to practice learning her again.
She looks a lot hotter now though. :D
I actually like Ivy a lot more in this game. :D I hated her in SC2, liked her a bit in SC3, and liked her quite a bit more in SC4. :)

Yep, just them modes as well as standard and special versus and the character creation, museum and the settings. XD
Haha, Ivy's changed a lot. If you were really used to her in SCII then it will most likely take you a while to get adjusted to her new change. You'll enjoy using Talim methinks, and Tira too. :D

Hm, well I've always had Ivy and Xianghua as my mains in 2 and 3 and that's not about to change!
After just saying that I liked Ivy in SC4...she's now starting to annoy me. :p
Is anybody else having problems where she can't seem to decide whether she's holding the whip or the sword? She'll sometimes hold her weapon in the coiled-up whip form, and then do sword attacks when I fight. :confused:

Oh I know. I nearly threw the controller through the screen the other week cause of DoA4 online lol I'm never like that when I'm playing games either.

Yeah, Vader vs Apprentice is probably one of the hardest single fights in the game. :(
I eventually won by simply bashing out the basic horizontal attacks, and throwing him every so often when I could. Pretty much every other attack I tried was dodged or too slow to connect.
So is this any good? I have a £30 giftcard thing for WH Smith...I could get it for £15.

So I decided I was going to unlock The Apprentice last night. All was going great, until I faced him. It took me 25 mins to beat him :o He's was so incredibly cheap, and because Vader is a little slow, he kept going in for the kill.
And I'm really good with fighting games....especially SC..
Spikey's advice is pretty solid, but I have to say that I "used the Force" a lot too. It throws him a little off and you can get a good combo in if you're quick.
Omg seriously, the Apprentice is the hardest computer character to beat in the whole damn game. He drives me insane, I still haven't beat him in the first 2 rounds yet lol. He's not even all that fun to play as :(

haha ! The fact we have the "Bonus Characters" section, to me, says we are going to get quite a few available for DLC.
Also, does anyone know how you can alter the colours of the bonus characters please? I'm sure I have seen it done online, but when I open them in the character editor I can't do anything :(!
EDIT: Oh and I'm a lot happier with the online now. If I just join other people's games then I can choose the arena. People aren't so clever when they are fighting in a place with no ring outs :) mwahahaha. There was one guy who was actually called "Ringout" lmao. Gutted much.

Soul Calibur II for Gamecube had Link from the Zelda games, Why not star wars ones too? Plus their was a picture with both Darth Vader and Yoda, they have got to be for the same version then.
So, it's my birthday and I got SCIV. I've been n00bing it all day. Tira FTW. :p

I wouldn't say she's slowed down. Overall though I find her far more balanced than in previous games :)
I got soul calibur as soon as it came out :p and have been playing it since. the apprentice is awsome, but i now use my custom character with kiliks style (as he was my fave)
on the custom thingy ive made lara croft (of course) and loads of castlevania characters (its so easy to do!!)

Maybe it was just the person playing then.. because her attacks appeared to be slow moving. *shrugs*

'Tis true: SCIV is more of the same, yet there's enough cosmetic changes, good (Seong Mi-na has acquired more than enough of fast short range moves to compensate for previously unforgivable removal of 6K~B [not sure if I wrote it right, been a long time - it's Kilik's 3K~B] from SCII) or bad (3A no longer knocks opponents off their feet :mad: ), to be helluva lot of fun. Still haven't gotten around to making my own characters though.
Is it just me or Setsuka's gone masher friendly? I stormed my way through Story and Arcade with her no problem even though I was only beginning to learn her.
I've always wanted to get down to her and procrastinated, but after I accidentally turned her into a Valley Girl in CC I just couldn't resist the urge anymore - she's on her way to becoming my tertiary character now.
Also, plumage whoops some serious buttocks.
I find Sets a little hard to use but she's still pretty fun.
Also just noticed that on the PS3 version The Apprentice's ending is longer than his ending on the 360 version.
