WAV to MP3?

I'm trying to put some music on my mp3 player from my computer, but it only takes mp3s (duh) and they're WAVs. Is there any way to convert them?

My preferred program for this work is iTunes, because I already use it for all of my music needs anyway.

im with Cochrane but if you do use the itunes way remember to look elsewhere for the mp3 format its not usually in the same place the WAV version is :)
