Do drive an automatic car or a manual (stick shift) car? This could be turned into a poll. Mods if stupid just close. :)
I drive an automatic since that's what my parent have. :D

I used to have a manual, i now have an Auto. I also drive my dads cars, one of which is auto, one of which is manual!

So a bit of both for me really!! I prefer auto for driving in the city, crawling traffic at rush hour in cambridge does my head in!

Had manual when I first learned. Hated it and went to auto.

Manual, but I remember my dad having a Golf GTI that was automatic. It was really good.

I always had a manual. Now, 10 months ago I use a car with a mixed system with levers on the steering wheel. It's ideal for me :)
The car engage itself and I only pulse lever to upload or download the speed (?).
As in a rally car :)

Parents have a manual, therefore I drive a manual. We've had an automatic, and I actually way prefer using one with a gearstick.

If you guys care about fuel consumption and the $$$ spend in gasoline then go for manual, otherwise stick with auto.

Manual.

Everyone should at least learn to drive a manual.

All my own cars have been manual 4 or 5 speeds, a '73 Volkswagen Super Beetle, '89 Nissan Sentra, and a '93 Nissan Maxima. I've Driven my dad's 2 manuals, a Suzuki Samurai and GMC Jimmy, as well as his girlfriend's manual Toyota Celica. Recently, I've driven a manual tractor/trailer (only around the work site). The only two automatics I've driven were my Stepdad's Nissan Pickup and my Mom's old Honda Accord.

I can honestly say I much prefer a manual transmission to an automatic.

Manual.
...and there it is, after a wash and a wax in my driveway:

Auto.

Never driven a stick-shift. Always wanted to learn, but never had the chance... I'm fine with auto, though.

Manual. In fact, I've never driven anything else. In my opinion, no problem once you get used to it.

My dad has an automatic (although he's had loads of manuals in the past).
My mom has a manual and my step dad has an automatic. Both of them can easily drive both manual and auto, although my mom prefers manual for some reason. She said it "feels better".

I agree... when I was driving the auto, I would get so annoyed when it would change gears when I didn't want it to, and it'd always jolt a bit when it changed. I feel like I've got way more control with the manual.

Learning to drive a manual atm, its a pain in the ass.. but necessary for a full license.

Why couldn't they of made cars simpler to drive! .. along with the roads.

My Car is a manual, simply because its my first car and its better to learn manual then Automatic.

But I'll probably buy and automatic a few years down the track

Driven both but currently only automatics in the stable. If I ever fulfill my dream of owning a muscle car again it will definitely be a stick. :tmb:
