In the game the date is still 2006, so TRU will be probably set a few days or weeks after Legend.

Real time and game time is separated, that's one of the reasons why we don't know the in-game age of Lara.

Currently no one has officially confirmed any detail about the TRU storyline. The only thing I know of is, that someone said "TRU will take place after Legend. But that does not necessarily mean, that it will continue the Legend storyline".

Actually, I'd think it would be great, if TRU would take place 4 years after those events. I don't like the idea of directly connected Tomb Raider games.

The game timeline doesn't necessarily have to follow the real world timeline. For all we know, Underworld might start at the exact moment Legend ended - though I hope not. I prefer Lara doing some research in the hidden "meanwhile", if nothing to explain to us just how does the Mayan underworld thing tie in with the Excalibur and Avalon storyline (as something as wild in terms of historical correctness can't work without some creative elaboration to it).

Bear in mind what Lara is looking for isn't exactly easy to find. Remember, it took her many years to come across the stone dais in Bolivia, and even then, that was an accident. Same thing again, she and her father spent years looking for the Scion. They knew where it was, but didn't know "where" it was (meaning, the knew it was in Peru, but not where in Peru).

Don't worry. Nothing about the timeline or story is actually confirmed so far, so you probably didn't get spoiled :)

Now, speculation based upon something the magazines said:

It wouldn't be that difficult to tie it together :) King Arthur's search for the Holy Grail could easily lead Lara to the Vatican (one of the rumored locations in Underworld). The Vatican contains many Mayan artifacts, so maybe Lara stumbles across something interesting while she's looking for clues about Avalon. It could be connected to Avalon, or perhaps Lara simply puts her search for Avalon on hold while she investigates Xibalba.

Finding the stone dais in Bolivia was not an accident. In the loading screen text at the beginning of the level, it says that Anaya called Lara to tell her that the dais she was looking for was in Bolivia.

Wow... Calm down... The title isn't that explicit, well not enough to spoil a big shot of the game and even that, you don't know what he means by saying "Four years". It's not like if the title was "Amanda is a boss in TRU O_O". It's your choice if you read the thread and get "spoiled". Don't blame the thread's creator.

On my side, I would like to know what happens after Legend... I do not want a black hole between the two games... Or maybe we'll have flashback of what happened.

She probably ran into a dead end or something and spent some time researching. I'm glad it won't pick up were Legend left off, and I'm sure we'll be filled in on the details. She probably shelved the mission until something pops up and she dusts off her research again.

The thread you're thinking of is this one (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthread.php?t=118452&page=4), but as you can see, no-one remembered where it said "4 years". The one that said it was several years later was located, but not the four years thing. So take calm, deep breaths... (P.S. you could have replied in that thread, since you read it there...)

If you consider this to be a spoiler, then do you often find your games are spoiled by looking at the instruction manual?:p

Me too. A great cutscene to introduce it - eerily similar in style to AoD's.

Many mags have said the game takes place in the "present time", so I guess we can all assume that it takes place two years after Legend. :)
