I love the new Lara. She is no longer that ultra-long-legged make up babrie. She looks older, more tired, more rude and I like it. Her outfit is dark and does not prevents you from concentrating on the gameplay (unlike some previous colourful and silly ones). I think Lara looks mature and strong. This is all I need. I don't want fashion, make, etc. The only think I dislike is the nails. I want them normal again.

well... she is not that pretty anymore, on some of the renders she looks too masculine... However being not so beautiful is part of CD's strategy of making the game more realistic lol :P
I thought she looked great up until I saw that weather effects video and thought she looked a little odd to be honest.
i like the way she looks older, thats awsome, because she needed to look a bit weatherd otherwise there would have to be somthing wrong, but her if her outfit reflects the mood of the game, then we can expect it to be SO much darker than TRL
i just hope its not as dark as AoD because that game annoys me ¬_¬
ALSO(just a thought) maybe she only looks weatherd because we've seen her in level 4....if theres a tragedy mid-game, maybe thats why shes a bit worse 4 wear.

Don't like the eyes. They should really tone down the wrinkles there. I appreciate maybe that they're trying to make her older, but these things should be done incrementally. Currently she looks like a worn-out mum, if I'm honest. Besides if she gets old as quickly as this, she'll have grey hair within the next two games!
Then there's the fact she doesn't look a bit like any other Laras before her (again). I can get used to that though. I like the clothes, and the rest of her! :D

it surprises me how much people complain about how she looks anymore. she looked frightening in a lot of the old renders, especially TR4. Compared to that, i think she looks great.

Anyway... I think her new look is fitting. They say she's got a tragedy happening in the game... which could definitely contribute to the new, darker look going on. And plus I thing the new revamp will add atmosphere to the game. Darker look + underworlds = perfect to me. :tmb:

Well then curiously enough, you joked about it. Sorry to get so defensive. I too delt with a case of anorexia back in high school and now suffer anemia, as well. I was hospitalized and put in a rehab clinic. So, I'm a bit prone to react off the handle about the issue, as I'm deadly aware of it's severity and danger. Sorry for coming undone about it.

The only thing I ask for is that her face stays similar to Legend/Anniversary. I like how she looks in those games. I do not want her looking more like Angie Jolie. :(

They are not trying to make Lara look older, they are only trying to make her look more like a real person would, children have creases under the eyes, it is nothing to do with age, Lara looks no older than the 28 odd she is meant to be, and much better than the chubby cheeked baby faced Lara from Legend. Having cheekbones that do actually have real 3D shading hardly makes her look like a worn-out mum. She looks fantastic to me, and although the outfit is still brown, it looks more functional than the Legend one, and certainly more practical than the classic blue top.

I agree that she looks fantastic, but she does look like she is in her early 30's. And that's more than fine to me, in fact it makes it a whole lot better. Experienced, tough, battle tested, and still quite beautiful. A smashing combination.

I think that she's pretty good so far (I don't know if there's going to be more changes or not). With no disrespect to previous games, she looks less like she wants to stand out and more like she wants to blend in. After all, who actually wants to be attacked by panthers and other animals.
Personaly, TRU Lara for me is awful, i like the outfit, way better than legend, i still prefer the classic outfit, but a girl needs to change her clothes... but her face is horrible, i hope it's just the current renders, cause in game she looks good...

there was nothing wrong with the legend top. It was light and airy for hot climates, it did blend in, she wore it in light places eg, boliva, ghana.
Will people stop complainign about problem the Legend model didnt have!
"She wore too much make-up" - Lara always had red lipstick, right up to anniversary and she got eye liner and mascara after TRIII when the graphics where upgraded but she does wear more than Anniversary Lara and about the same as AoD.

She looks older. But it does seem to be a big change from Legend. In this new Underworld rendition, she looks older and tired. She does look more realistic though. I wonder if they'll keep Karima or find another model.

The environment we've seen so far for TR:U are far from cartoony, IMO.

ermm what environments have you been looking at? they don't look cartoony to me at all
those plants/trees could use a bit more work. They look very pixelated. The animals are blocky and Lara doesnt even mesh well with the enviorment.
Might I add, it looks worse in the HD screencaps.
I just wish the game overall had a better design where both the character design and enviorment design went hand and hand. So far, I think Lara looks too realistic and everything is far too over texturized and pizelated.

Well then that explains a lot. They really shouldnt be putting out "HD" caps with it only being 40-60% finished. In fact, I'd rather they released character renders and conceptual artwork until the game is 80-100% complete. You'll have people like me judging hard.

I like this tweak that was posted, pumping up the color in her face and brightening the eyes with a sparkle breaths a lot of life into her face so she doesn't look so dead. The eye's looked so flat and dead in the original. Nice work whoever tweaked it! :hug:
I only looked at two TRU pictures, but I can say that she looks amazing... Legend and Anniversary Lara look like 13 years old girls dressed up as Lara...
Instead of making her look baby-faced (again) they made her look like a strong woman! :D
I wasnt sure at first looking at the close ups, but she looks good in the wider screenshots. Outfit is realistc and believeable, so I guess the only thing that could make her more bad-ass at this stage would some sort of planet-destroying super-laser.

It didn't look bad in terms of how it looked on her and complemented her body, but it looked impractical and uncomfortable for a woman doing what Lara does. Her outfit doesn't need to be realistic, but keeping it looking somewhat appropriate for tomb raiding is appreciated.

What are you guys on drugs or something? They finally made a real woman, one who doesn't look like a teenage beauty queen or a fashion mad teeny bopper. She looks like a tough, seasoned, robust, and highly attractive woman. One whom I can see doing all of the things that the character is capable of doing. This creation is far superior to any they have ever done. Well done CD.
the reason she looks bad( to some of you, not me tho) is because for starters CD have done a great job at making her look REALISTIC... and oh i forgot its not even half way completed yet(well it is now but not the time i made this thread lol) and to be honest i dont see what everyone is moaning about, Lara is brilliant and i like the way they are changing her direction, and hat ever her looks are if you aint happy with them then at least her motion capture gymnastics more that make up for them... gameplay loooks AMAZING
also lol i did prefer the TR2 wetsuite ;) they should have revamped that wetsuit lol SOLA
