So how do you what it to sound? I know it is very early to even think about it and that there were some threads regarding the soundtrack, but personally I want something different from TRA and TRL... don't get me wrong I liked the soundtracks of bouth games, but the music changed too often in TRL and in TRA it did not change at all... I really would like to see a real dramatic and dark score in TRU something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akvo87bXcBo It is a screenshot video I made (for like 5 min) just to show you what I mean so don't expect much just listen :)
I want it to be something epic with lots of chanting in a foreign language.
Sorry to say this, but yours was quite boring. It would be great for in game background music in some placed, but definitely not as a soundtrack.
I have to agree with LegenDary, this is defenitely not a Tomb Raider soundtrack to me. Lot's of foreign chanting is always good :) What about Dutch? hehe
I personally really like it :D
i expect something amazing that fit well with TR.

Well yes, the track in the video is for background music, but that music is also part of the soundtrack ;)
foreign languages are used alot these days... which is good and can sound exotic, but not when this foreign language is your own (not all of us speek english you know). Like the new trailer for Alone in the Dark for example... a friend of mine from the US send me the trailer because of the music in it, saying that it sounds so exotic and cool... for my surprise they were singing in my language in it, and it did not sound exotic to me at all...
Something Epic with choir, drums and strings. But I really wouldn't mind to have a simple melodic/ambient tune somewhere during the game, nor would I mind a proper techno track (or an ambient similar to TRIII) when on a vehicle.
I forgot to add that I would love to hear more ambient sound effects (whispering, random drum/clash sounds or odd techno effects similar to TRIV). That's what I really loved about the classics. The ambience was so freaky.

None. No music, unless it causes me the creeps. I always thought the simple beats as you find in Streets of Rome, Chronicles are so creepy. Itīs much better to get scared by the simple "roar" of a panther than having a backgroundmusic preparing yourself for the effect.
I didn't like the music while riding a motorbike, sounded such a lame thing.
I want either Kurt Harland to compose it or for them to go inline with the original's style.
Disclaimer:
I'm NOT saying this music should be in Tomb Raider, just saying the level of sophistication and cross cultural music should be at this level :P

The music is a perfect blend of techno and traditional, East and West etc, it's an excellent example of world music. Just to stress again that this isn't what I want Tomb Raider music to be like, but I think the fusion of different musical elements should reach this level of sophistication. Some world music sounds very jarring because they just superimpose some cliched foreign element over say a techno beat and it sounds painful.
I think Mr Folmann has done quite a good job in terms of mixing music together though, even though TRL's feel wasn't always very suitable for TR.
A combination of the AOD and Legend soundtracks.
But I'm not really thinking about that, so far imo the music in TR games has always been amazing.

Exactly!
I don't worry about the soundtrack,i'm almost sure it would be great.
Mmmm, The Fountain... I'd probably have an eargasm if I heard something like The Fountain score in TRU (assuming it would fit the scene).
I forgot to add that I would love to hear more ambient sound effects (whispering, random drum/clash sounds or odd techno effects similar to TRIV). That's what I really loved about the classics. The ambience was so freaky.
I'm pretty sure CD will include this, they also did it Anniversary.
And when we're in the Underworld, they just can't leave out creapy distant sounds, where you go wondering: what might that be?
Btw, very good comment, I forgot about the ambient sounds, they're extremely important in TR games, because that's what sets the mood. Just hearing Lara's gear and footsteps and creapy sounds :D. I love it.
I just wish it was less hollywoodesque than the last 2 games..
I hope they will return to the classic TR melody! Since AoD it's lost, isn't it?? BRING CLASSIC MUSIC BACK!!! With foreign chanting in the background like in TRL or something like that - but classic!! :(

i like the classic soundtracks, especially TR2. My favourite has to be legend, i think it's great:) and they could use it but change it a little bit for the new game
I actually like the one from the Media Collection thread.
Troels Folmann did an excellent job with Legend and Anniversary. His scores mixed many different cultural elements, used human voices in very creative ways, and gave the games an epic, cinematic feel. I hope that Underworld will continue in precisely the same vein.
I don't know what to expect....nor do I want to expect too much.
I will say that LegendLost from the Eidos Forums brought this up :D
Click here (http://www.videogamer.com/videos/player.html?vid=1517)< - has music from the game - it sounds AWESOME.

If I could have my way Eidos would hire John Williams to do a "Raiders of the Lost Ark" style soundtrack. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen so I hope we get one like AOD's.
I think it should convey the lightness or darkness of the mood, or :) and :(. Personally I think the music should be a nice combination of orchestral and ambience music (is that the right word..ambience?) with a BIT of forgein chanting. To me, the chanting is getting a bit old in all the games/movies. Except for Legend, it was beautiful, especially the opening credit song.

I was thinking like that too. Despite my general dislike for AOD, I thought the soundtrack was appropriate, and I loved the mix on the official site that played the AOD OST and then merged it with the TRA one. Something of that nature would be lovely.

TR soundtracks are amazing.
All of them were captivating.
TRL and TRA are spectacular.
Something alike and even darker will leave me speechless once again :D :D
