View Full Version : Which country would you visit?

I would visit:

Monaco: I think it's nice. I've always wanted to go into the casino and watching them gambling. The beach is not too bad. :)
India/Pakistan: They're just the same. I've always wanted them to reunite. Why should be separated? In India I would visit Mumbay, The Bollywood. :D In Pakistan I'd visit Karachi and Lahore. I'm not sure in Pakistan is safe at the moment. I can't take the bombings anymore. :(
Indonesia: I would visit Bali. Almost of my friends have gone to Bali, why haven't I?
Vatican: LOL, I really wanna see how Roman Catholic Church works and their goal.
Saudi Arabia: I'd visit it for pilgrimage.
United Kingdom: Wanna meet my friend. :D
Bulgaria: Wanna meet my friend. :D
Egypt: WOW, almost of you like Egypt, right? :)

And how about you? :wve:

I already visited most I've ever liked to visit. Among the ones I haven't yet:

Australia - Just want to see what it's like down there
Canada - Again, I'm curious.

Others I'd like to visit again:

Great Britain - I just want to spend some time in London, really, checking out the local model railroad stores. Also, I find it funny that I can reach London by just changing trains once.
Switzerland - Narrow Gauge Railroads
USA - I said something about economical and cultural leadership role of the United States of America in another thread, that sums it about up. Also, diesel locomotives.

None from the mediterranian, middle east or anything, because I can't stand the heat. For that same reason, I'm not really certain about Australia.

Why do you like cold?

Cochrane
06-02-08, 09:06
I don't know, it's just the way I am. Also, I get sun burns rather easily. I already hate Italy for this reason, so I don't think anything with an even warmer climate would be fun for me.

Egypt. It looks wonderful. I'd spend a week sightseeing and a week stretched out on the beech with occasional snorkeling. I'd also love to go to Italy, and see Venice, Naples and Rome. Greece is attractive as well - I've been to one of the islands for a two week windsurfing holiday but I'd love to visit Athens as well.

I'd like to visit China. I'd like to go to some of the massive cities, and also to see rural life.

Given the rich history and culture of China, along with its vast size, population and increasing global influence, we don't get taught or hear much about the place in the west.

Way too many. I want to travel the world and atm am trying to figure out the way to be doing that.

Every country at least loosely associated with the term Far North. If it's got tundra, I wanna check it out. I'm currently working on getting an excuse to travel the Trans-Siberian railway. I should distinguish Finland among them however, because another reason I want to go there is language, and Scandinavia, because I find Norse culture fascinating. Tolkien's to blame here.

Scotland - again, my type of landscape.

Georgia - Caucasus! I want to get there before Russia gets them first.

Switzerland, Alps!

Nepal, Himalayas!

China - a no-brainer really; I'm currently working on getting there but I doubt it'll turn out the way I want.

Japan - an incredibly fascinating, intricate society. And Akihabara of course. The downside being, they're filthy rich so it's hard to get in there for a longer time.

Ukraine, especially Kyiv and Crimea.

France, just another region this time. I also need to polish my French... a lot.

Croatia, because last time I saw too little of it.

Italy, Rome to be exact, to silence that Roman Imperialist within me.

Israel.

Korea. Either of them.

Some tiny Pacific tourist destination, to get the feel of such places.

USA, a major Western country that nonetheless is very different from Europe.

Estonia, just because.

Antarctica, just not for too long.

Argentina, because I feel so embarrassingly ignorant about SA.

I'd also like to see Kaaba if given the chance but the chance ain't comin', pffft!

... and many more, of course.

EDIT:

Forgot New Zealand!

EDIT2:

And Tierra del Fuego!

Oh don't even ask. I live in Czech Republic and the only country I visited is Slovakia, which is very near and I'm kinda bored of that not knowing the other countries. I certainly want to visit:
Great Britain, Canada, Scotland, Japan, China, Italy, France, Greece...there is just too much of it, hopefully I'll visit Italy thanks to my school. Should have work experience there, but I'll have to work hard for it.

I'd want to visit Egypt, Thailand, England, and whatever is the country my father was from. My dad was a gypsy who moved to Finland from somewhere else. He made my mother pregnant with me and ran. I was a mistake but mother had me anyway. I curse my father for what he did. I hope he's dead.

I have been to all the continents save Antarctica. But I would like to go to the southern tip of South America (Tierra Del Fuego), a place that intrigues me.

When I just got out of college, myself and 2 friends made a pact that someday we would drive all the way down there and back home (Chicago). In those days it would have been impossible, but now it can be done. But in my present condition such a drive is out of the question. So a flight down that way is my only option.

I am planning a Scandinavian trip this summer if my health improves.

There are so many places I would love to go. Top of my list is definitely Egypte, cause I love Egyptian mythology, so a trip to the pyramides wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen to me :D.

Cambodja, Japan (Tokyo), New York City, L.A, Peru, Australia.. I could go on for a while.

Malta - a small island with a big heart and a lot to give it seems
China - an overwhelmingly big country, huge population and a huge influence on our world both now and in history. Worth a look in if only to broaden one's horizons.
India - Seems like a very interesting country in terms of history, religion, culture and current affairs. And of course its a beautiful place and is home to my favourite cuisine: Indian Cuisine! :D
Nepal - See Tibet
Tibet (disputed about whether its a country but there you go :p) - Want to travel the Himalayas. I imagine it would be a very profound experience.
Finland - There's something very enchanting about Finland that I don't quite understand. A place I'm very curious to learn of beyond the beautiful photography I've seen of its wooded areas and lakes. I want to experience it all myself.

Too bad one life time won't be enough.

I disagree. I believe it is very possible to cover the world. A lifetime is more than enough. All you need is 10 years, and lots of money.

On the other hand; if you wanted to see, do and experience all a country has to offer, then I agree one lifetime wouldn't be enough.

Not going on tours (tours take quicker), it would take:

- 2 months to cover Europe
- 1 year to cover Africa
- 1 year to cover Asia
- 6 months to cover Australia
- 1 year to cover North America
- 9 months to cover South America
- 1 month for Antarctica

- Total = 4.5 years

That figure could be spread out to 10 years, depending on how much you work/study. My ultimate ambition in life is to cover the whole world. I have 50 years ahead of me.

hmm, i suppose your subconscious could be "longing for home" kinda thing, i'd probably think the same too..going back to your roots and all that :D

if you're born in UK wouldn't you have a UK passport under dual citizenship rules???

Yeah thats what my parents say, but I'm not 18 yet, and I'm near broke :D so I'm kinda stuck lol

I disagree. I believe it is very possible to cover the world. A lifetime is more than enough. All you need is 10 years, and lots of money.

On the other hand; if you wanted to see, do and experience all a country has to offer, then I agree one lifetime wouldn't be enough.

Not going on tours (tours take quicker), it would take:

- 2 months to cover Europe
- 1 year to cover Africa
- 1 year to cover Asia
- 6 months to cover Australia
- 1 year to cover North America
- 9 months to cover South America
- 1 month for Antarctica

- Total = 4.5 years

That figure could be spread out to 10 years, depending on how much you work/study. My ultimate ambition in life is to cover the whole world. I have 50 years ahead of me.

Ok but then I'd still have to have a year for Central America and spend my 20 year retirement in the Carribean.

In the near future, I'm hoping to go to New Zealand.

Other goals might include going to Alaska, America, Canada, United Kingdom, possibly Germany, Antartica and the North Pole (well, not exactly, but on the ice sheet somewhere).
