so is the ps3 80Gb coming to the UK? does anyone have any solid info?

i hope it is cos it will have backwards capabilities so i can play all my old games aswell.

I heard a lot of people on the US PS Forums talking about a 120GB version, I think there is actually a thread confirming it!

We've had some news here in Finland that a new PS3 model is being created (much goodies, but very expensive) and Sony said that they're not gonna sell it in Europe. Why do they hate us? :confused: Another new PS3 is also being made with a built in Linux OS, but even that is not coming to Europe.

and now when they are releasing new ps3 40g packs with uncharted and ratchet&clank(atleast here in sweden)?

Well I guess if you had ALL your music, ALL your pictures, and just a million demos you could use it lol. I'm fine with my 60 GB.

I don't think they'll give it to us europeans. They left us just the 40gb version.

Japanese and american markets are getting all these extra versions and we're left with only one.

they did have it here but they've phased it out so they can bring out the massive memory one!

120G is not a lot, and 80 is laughable. That's what I had in my pc 10 years ago. Now 500G is average on a pc with many upwards of 750G and even 1T.

erm the 60GB PS3 is Backwards Compatible, if you're bothered about an extra 20GB just simply upgrade the Hard Drive to a size of your choosing :confused:

..............all we've had is a 20,40,60 model

It is highly unlikely that Sony will ever devote the effort to get the 40GB to be BC. There is talk of a 120GB model coming out but no information as to whether it will be BC.

That's actually a very interesting piece of news. 40gb version might play ps2 games after all.

Cool. Sony should release that emulator as a patch. There's no sense making people pay again to download games they already have, especially when their console has a smaller hard drive to begin with so they'd have to delete games they paid for in order to play something else.

If I read that correctly you are not just downloading an emulator that allows you to play a PS2 game that you already have. You are downloading a full copy of the game that allows you to play it on your PS3. But the implication is that you would be buying the game again. I would like to know more about how Sony is planning on making it work.
