Sled Storm for the PS2. That game was awful! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif The one for the PSOne was GREAT! But this PS2 version was not well put together, and was DEFINATELY not ready to seel. It was so incomplete, it needed A LOT more!

Hi TRF,

http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

What a question! I really did not like Final Fantasy VII. It was meant, in it's time, to be the best game ever! But for me it was not an RPG (I like mine face to face.) The by-turn combat system was turged and the manga/elven graphics were 'orrible. A lot of these comments apply to similar "RPG" games like 'Vandal Hearts'.

I'd rather play the very first original ping pong/ tennis games that what I've seen pass for RPG now. :(

Terry Pratchett's books can be great, but the second Discworld game (I never saw the first) was so dire it brought tears to my eyes and other 'named games' that made me cringe include 'Road Rash' and some of the Strategy games, like 'Warcraft' and 'Command and Conquer'.

Sorry, I'm going on, but we've been subjected to so many poor games over the years I really feel that while AOD may not be the best, it is not within spitting distance of the worst.

Rant, rave and can I have my money back, Please Sir?

Yeah, I loved the PSOne version, I don't know why they butchered it for PS2. I guess they were trying to cash in on the success of the brilliant SSX Tricky.

i'd say Final Fantasy. snore......boring.........snore.Now, how can someone say that Final Fantasy is the worst games around? Final Fantasy pretty much have been a model series on how games can be innovative. Innovative characters, innovative storylines, innovative gameplay, and just about every other innovative thing you put in a game -- these are things that kept Final Fantasy going for 10+ years now, simply because each is a rebirth.

Anyhow the worst game-- Boss Games answer to Polyphony's Gran Turismo,World Driver Championship. The game had the potential, but screwed up big time.

Now the best games happen to be:

Anything from the big "N" Nintendo(especially LoZ). They might have thier ways at time, but they really know how to please thier fan, and its because of them I've been a happy gamer for 14+ years now.

Anything from Sega, espeically since they're the source of all innovation, and been so since the Genesis day. One thing to be said, Sega is a fighter rather than quitter.

Sure they've been rocked by heavy financial woes, but they prove that they're a figher, even right down to the end of the Dreamcast short life.

Anything from Capcom
Anything from Namco
Anything from Surreal
Almost everything from Ubi
Anything from Polyphony Digital
Anything from Konami

Dude, its just my opinion. I found it boring. And we're all entitled to my opinion. Or did you think that every person who played the game would like it. i think not. i know a few people who dislike tomb raider I and II (the best of the series, along with AOD, in my opinion) and i respect their opinions. Anyways, i hope i didn't offend you or something...... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Worst game I ever played was called "London Racer" http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif

It was marketed as an "Italian job" style game and it suckered me in to buying it.
The cars crashed if they were within ten feet of an obstacle; complete and utter garbage. I had one go and then consigned it to the coffee table to be used as a coaster :D

I'd have to agree on final fantasy, its just one of those games that would put me 2 sleep. I mean oh look he hit me, now my turn. I personally think turn about fighting is quite possibly one of the worst mistakes in gaming history.
Sorry those out there who love it, but for me, it beats sleeping pills any day.

oh one other thing, seems to me that naming the game "FINAL fantasy" might not be the most thought through of titles considering there must be at least 10 of them, anyone explain why they are called that?

John Falstaff
26-08-03, 23:04
I've commented on this before. Niel aka Spike is right. It seems that someone (in Japan?) does not understand the meaning of the word 'final'. On the other hand re:-TR4, some people in the UK may not have understood the meaning of the word 'last'!

Because when Square (now Square-Enix or something like that) made it they weren't making lots of money from their games. They called it Final Fantasy because they thought it would be their FINAL game. But instead, it turned out to be a big hit and they kept making them. At least that's what I read in the Official U.S. Playstation Magazine... I hope that no one beats me by posting first, cuz I don't like to type a lot for nothing...

You have to like using menus and having the game played for you to like FF in my opinion...

Click games are boring...

click games are best games ever. You need a brain to understand them, though.

Let's see, game that sucked.. I hate GTA3

Sim City. By the time I had finally gotten a somwhat functional city, all hell broke loose! There was fires, floods (which for some reason didn't take care of the fires!?!) robberies, the list goes on. Very frusterating!

AzaI once read a review for London Racer. It got a really low mark and the reviewer HATED it. It looked utterly terrible!

I personally hated Dr.Muto on PS2. The graphics were 10 shades of brown and I really disliked the central character.

Squaresoft(now SquareEnix) at the time even was thinking about dropping out of the gaming industry because that. The game took off,and became the success it still is today, and pretty much don't show a sign of slowing down.

Though I don't play FF that much anymore(but been playing ever since the NES days), I pretty much still see the game as role-model for games looking to be successful in the long-run.

BTW,this should give you some brief history of the games. : ff original (http://www.ffaddicts.com/final_fantasy/ff1/)

You click to move, you use a menu to fight and all you do is level...level...get uber weapon...level...

Where is the 'needs brainpower' part?

It takes more thought processes to play an FPS and you need a more tactical mindset...

Where is the fun in watching your PC play the game for you?

The worst game I ever played would have to be Street Skater for PS0NE.Now that game really sucked. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/sleepy.gif Needless to say, that little face next to me describes my excitement for that game after I played it for the first minute or so.I even went into dept to buy that ****py game!

I agree with Draco, however, has anyone played The X-Files: The Game ?? That was pretty much a click-game but it was really cool to talk to people in that game!!! And you had to think (a little bit) about what you said. Scully kept shooting me 'cuz I kept saying the wrong things. :D And I accidently killed Mulder which actually made me cry! LOL!! I was a very emotional 14yo...

Here are the worst games I have ever played:

ALONE IN THE DARK: ONE EYED JACKS REVENGE (Dear god, why did it have to load every 3 seconds?
After I died 10 times before setting foot inside the mansion, I quit the game never to return again--thank god for progress)

DEATHTRAP DUNGEON (The most overly-hyped game ever! I got about 1/4 of the way through with the guy and just quit. Some poor schmuck probably paid Gamers in Omaha his hard earned $1, poor schmuck.)

This choice may not sit well with some people, but I stand by my choices:

HITMAN 2 (This game just plain sucked. Game designer: "Ooooh, how about this control scheme, no one has ever done it, so lets be the first! Let's have the gaming schmucks use the stick to aim the gun! Of course, they will have to be shot 100,000 times while adjusting the stick just to get it near the bad guys, but hey, that's ok right? It'll be a challenge!" Yeah, right. I traded this dud in for AOD. Oh man! Now does that make me a schmuck? Aaaaaah!!

It's not the worst game I've played but here's my thoughts on Final Fantasy VII...the only one in the series I ever played. All the hype and everything made me want to try it out. I totally lost interest after I don't know how many hours of: 1) do one small task, 2) watch a long cinematic sequence, 3) move a short distance and fight a random battle 4) watch another cinematic, 5) repeat 1-4...
Wild Arms came out at around the same time and I enjoyed it 1,000 times more!

I played zillions of horrible games, some of them to the end (AOD) and some of them not even past the first few screens (Imperialism). But it is THIEF that gets my vote...

You can call me a coward,

(but then I'd come after you http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/violent.gif )

But 'Alone in the Dark' I was afraid to enter the mansion, and they seem to be making a movie http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif )

The deathtrap dungeon was a sort of follow up to one of those early (c. 1983) D&D books. I got it second hand but saw little in the first few minutes to interest. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/sleepy.gif

FF VII, what can I say! It was reviewed at ten out of ten, the best game ever etc:. It was one of the first games i ever bought, on the basis of these reviews. I'm glad others enjoyed it, for me it was http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/sleepy.gif and http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif . A dangerous combination.

Well..I love FF. Have bashed on about it before. London Racer lurks in the back of my pile of games, to my shame. I was also sucked into thinking it was an Italian Job. Good thing was that I got it cheap. Also bought Ubi Ribbon which was almost impossible.

Colin Macrae: brilliant first game but then they changed the 2 player mode in the second rendering it almost unplayable as a 2 player. Shame on them. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/pillow.gif
