Make sure that the cables are connected properly.
It only has a 1 yr warrenty, so if that doesn't work it's time for a new one.

I checked that like ten times.
OK i finally got it to work. Every time i try to play my PS2 it takes like 5 minutes to get it to work. I keep sitting there unpluging and pluging it back in. And pushing the restart button. it should be doing this. Its never done this before.
And when i finally got it to come up. It wasn't recognizing my game disc. Then i tired pushing the restart button. And well it worked (for now.)
Why is it doing this? And what do i need to do to get it to work next time?
When powering it on hold Power button for about 5 seconds.
According to your last post I must say your PS2 has some loosen contacts. When it warms up it begins to work. Time for a replacement really :(

1) Take $129 to a game store, or discount store like Walmart.
2) Get a new PS2 off the shelf.
3) Give your money to the check out clerk.
4) Go home and unpack and connect your new PS2.
Happy gaming :tmb:

Well you have to consider the time and aggravation factor. To correctly diagnose and fix a problem like that might cost more than a new one. But remember that these units are not built to last. Even if you found someone to fix it, it is still 2 years old. If you have been getting heavy use from it there may be many components that are getting worn out. If you paid to have it shipped back to the manufacturer you would have to wait who knows how long, plus there is no telling what could happen to it. You might not get the same one back, but get sent a refurb with a very dubious history.
I think I am getting to be an old fart, but for me I would save myself the hassle and get a brand new one.
I suggest that you clean the optics very carefully, then blow out the vents with some compressed air. You may get some more play out of it, but think of the frustration it could cause you if it only works intermittently and you are in a really exciting part of a game. :hea:
