In TRLE, some floors look really boring like this: http://i27.tinypic.com/20jh1si.jpg
While, they could be looking nice and spicy like this:http://i29.tinypic.com/mj76o7.jpg
In reality, if you do think about it, nice hard wood floors (especially ones in Croft Manor) would be nice and polished. The ones obviously in the first picture are just boring wood, while the ones in the second are nice and shiny. Many people ask me how I made the Gym shiny. Well, kaufi actually did this for me, but I have learned how to do it on my own. What you need to do is mirror the exact same room, and then place it UNDERNEATH the room where you want shiny floors, and add doors, and use toggle opacity to texture it transparent. Now your saying, "what?" well, I'll explain.
The first thing you need to do is decide where you want the shiny floors. They go nicely in a room which has some wood, or marble floors, or even tiled floors. You need to first click on the F below the 2D map. After you do this, you need to click on the word "Flip Map". It should now create a replica of the room. Select this new room (It should be under your room list, eg Flipped Room X) Select it, and then go to original room. Look at the floor. Check the height of it (in my case, -10) go to the OTHER room, and use the room + and - buttons to make the ceiling of it -10. Then, drag and drop this room underneath the original room. Go to the original room, and select were you want the floor shiny. Click the black door button. But wait! If you play it now, Lara will just fall into the doubled room! We will see right into the other room! Click on the entire door, and texture it like you want it (in my case, wood) then in the OTHER room, texture the ceiling with magenta. Now, when you texture the door, remember to use Toggle Opacity 2, and click on TRANSPARENT (so it will be see-through) Now go into the room, and enjoy your shiny floors. (if I missed something, please ask)
To make Lara reflect, you need TREP, and Script2. Learn more about it on the TREP main page.
