Adrian, please stop mindless threads like these (and sortwise lately). It is considered SPAMMING.
Thanks!

What happened to the days where we used to have threads where the conversation was actually intellectual?

Thorn

The TRF provides plenty of intellectual conversations. lol http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Real impressive that there's only one word in the first three posts combined.

I count two...but then I assume the first one is spelled wrong or from another language...

This isn't anything new anyway...

I missed the first word, but the point still stands.

So why just accept it? Why not to something to try to change it, to get some worthwhile conversations going so it's not just pure spam from people who don't know any better?

Spam is my biggest pet peeve for online forums, because it's people who have nothing good to say but they just want a higher post count.

You have a very good point there Celli old boy!

I know that I have often congratulated members on reaching a post-count milestone but I often wonder at the logic of achievement at plentiful posts. Surely, in the environment of an online forum, it is more than ever a case of QUALITY, not quantity that counts.

I've heard before of a "karma ranking" where a new status is achieved not by how many posts you make but by the quality of the posts.

It's a great idea for smaller forums, but I don't think it could ever work on a forum as large as this.

I mean, it could be the actual ranking, the member rating AND the "karma ranking", or the member ratings being replaced...or at least, votes given according to the quality of posts (which I think it actually happens here)
