Hello fellow raiders,

I finished all the Tomb Raider series and I'm booored out of my mind and I can't wait another couple years 'til the next game comes out! In the meantime, I need to find fairly new games that are similar to the TR series. Does anyone have any suggestions for cool PS2 Action-Adventure games? Thanks!

Hi Desert Rose,

I dunno! What about the Indiana Jones games.

They've got the same premiss. I've not tried them (still trying to best Brother Obuscura!) But some people reckon they are good. Look at the reviews.

I've heard No One Lives Forever is excellent, and it won awards and all. For pure adventure I liked Syberia.

But maybe your best bet is to play some of the custom levels. I love 'em! You can play TR forever, really. I don't think people realize how many good levels there are. I liked GeorgeM's The Loch, and there are many more. Give it a try.

The 2 GTA games on PS2 are great.
Devil May Cry (PS2)
Metroid Prime (GCN)
Resident Evil Series (PSX, PS2, GCN)
Buffy The Vampire Slayer (xbox)

Primal is good Tomb Raider-ish adventure. And you can't go past Ratchet & Clank for gorgeous, bug-free fun! Also, if you can find ICO anywhere, I thoroughly recommend it. It has some Tomb Raider style puzzles and amazingly atmospheric graphics.

No one Lives Forever and No One Lives Forever 2 are awesome games. Different from TR however, but two of my favourites. They are 1st person spy games - and very funny! If you like spoofs on James Bond, you'll LOVE these!

I definately recommend PRIMAL and ICO (search as hard as you can for a copy of ICO, you won't regret it!). Other great PS2 games include: FATAL FRAME (scary fun), RATCHET & CLANK, MAXIMO, and JAK & DAXTER. Most of these games are probably pretty cheap by now, but I'd be surprised if you didn't like all of these! :D

Crash Bandicoot:The wrath of cortex is a fun game to play and challenging enough to keep you busy for a while, but not challenging enough for you to start pulling your hair out. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid 2:Sons of liberty are also fun games that I highly recommend.
For PC,you should try Desperados:Wanted Dead or Alive. Not much hype surrounding this game, but it is an excellent Wild West Strategy Game. Not the kind where you build a base and so on.It's the kind where you just control the charecters with thier different skills(Dynamite, seductress etc.)through the level.I know these are not exactly the type of games you asked for, but they are some of my favourite games and my friends as well. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hi Annacia

is it like that ad running on TV where the croc jumps out at the mad Aussie bungee jumping? LOL (if you're not in the UK you might not have seen it but trust me it's funny). http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Hi there!

Thank you guys so much for your suggestions - I can't wait to try them out! Unfortunately, Canada only carries a few good titles to rent from places like Blockbuster and I wouldn't wanna blow money on a game before I rent it first to see if it's worth it. I'm sure you guys know exactly what I mean! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif
