Picture I nicked off ebay, not the one i purchased, but it will look the same because it is new & sealed.

After hours of thinking, I have made my decision. Yes! The game looks like something that can bring me back to the classic, specially since it has levels that I have never played before! *And many other bonus features that come with the Platinum Collection*

Product Information

In 1998, shortly after the release of Tomb Raider II, Tomb Raider was re-released for DOS and released for the first time for Macintosh. This release, titled Tomb Raider Gold in North America, and Tomb Raider: Unfinished Business elsewhere, featured the regular game as well as four new bonus levels in two extra scenarios. The re-release was exclusive to DOS and Macintosh. These bonus scenarios were made free to download for owners of the original Tomb Raider. The levels for Tomb Raider Gold were created in the San Francisco office of Eidos by Phil Campbell, Rebecca Shearin, and Gary LaRochelle.

Egypt (2 levels): The game begins with the Shadow of the Cat episode. Lara returns to the City of Khamoon in search of an undiscovered tomb dedicated to the Egyptian cat-goddess, Bastet. The tombs she once explored in the original game have been flooded, allowing access to previously unreachable areas and opening a whole new world of possibilities.
Atlantis (2 levels): Continuing from the exact point the original game ends, Unfinished Business takes Lara Croft back to the bottom of the pyramid. Further studies reveal the existence of a stronghold crawling with surviving creatures guarding an alien hatchery.
The levels' designers have recommended that the Atlantis levels should ideally be played by cheat-skipping over the Egypt levels, so as to start only with the default pistols and no other ammunition, as was originally intended.

Yup :) Excellent game :tmb:

If you have TR1 CD you can download Unfinished Business HERE (http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tr1/gold/demo.html) for free (use 1st or 2nd link and use THIS (http://www.tombraiderhub.com/faq/tr1.html) solution to install under XP or Vista) :)

I`m freaking in love with Unfinished Business more than with TR1!!!
I guess it`s an ordinary edition and so you don`t need to buy TR1 and TRGold TWO packs becoz it`s all including edit! (Stupid explanatiion, I know :o)

Also: I would like to know if there is any difference between normal Gold and Platinum Edition. :)
J. Rutland, I hope someone who really knows will post, but I don't see a Platinum EDITION, the box says TR Gold is part of the Platinum COLLECTION. If you're concerned about the levels themselves, I think it's likely they're the same as the downloadable levels. But there might be some additional documents or something.

For everyone: IIRC, First EIDOS published "Tomb Raider", then the 4 "upgrade" levels (Unfinished Business) were available online, then a two-disc set was published, "Tomb Raider Gold". Confusingly, people have taken to talking about the "gold levels" and also "Tomb Raider gold" to mean the 4 Unfinished Business levels.

If you liked TR1, then you should definitely get it. But why spend money if you can download them for free, as Alex said?

It seems a nice collectors item. It's very rare, wouldn't find it anywhere in my country, and it's new and sealed. :D

New and sealed?
If you really want it then just buy it as an investment, AND NEVER OPEN IT.

Then just download and use the free one as Gabi and Alex said.

win, win situation :D

They are very good levels which I have played alot! There is alot of places to explore & alot of secrets & shortcuts (some very good shortcuts) Some of the atlentions you dont have to kill, just watch what levers you pull!

Good luck! :D

The game is amazing. I managed to get sound working with music, and the first area in egypt is so nostalgic. :D

The Return to egypt level is very interesting, and when you get to the end you can see little details like stars flashing in the night sky and pyramids at the area you can't reach. ^^ Though I got there after several failed jumps, and you can explore the whole desert then, but when you get close to the pyramids, she drops dead. :p Anyway, loving the game so far and i have only finished the Temple of Cat level.

Now I am onto the TR1 Atlantis continuation levels. :jmp:

Screensaver, Extra Levels/Scenarios, Desktop Theme, Calender, none of these were featured with the normal TR1.

I have just finished it. This game was absolutely fantastic, brings me back to the classic, with two extra scenarios. The Shadow of the Cat *or whatever it's called* was perfect. Beautifully crafted egyptian setting, and i love the pyramids at night.

Unfinished Business was quite good, the levels were very interesting and the hive was amazing! I will keep this game for a very long time, but for now, i might just start TR1 again. :)

Now for the Lost Artefact.
