tr1 new version?!

has anyone tried to upgrade tr1 using the level editor, not only upgrading the graphics, or lara, but also adding new areas to the original game, and being able at the same time keep the cutscenes and fmvs rightthere where they are so being able to play a whole new game, based on teh first game...?....

there are many tools out there,.. i wonder if anyone have manage to remake the first great tomb raider into a better one...???

of course it is,.. but,.. imagine having exsactly the same tr1,exsactly the same lost valley, just that this time there are a few hidden caves, where you can reach other secret parts of the valley, some homemade designed parts, where even you could include new enemies... making every level "hub", and using it for adding just bonus areas... the city of vilcabamba could be a bigger city with views to the outside in some parts, just for the fun...

As far as the upgrading goes at least, and there's some new areas added too. It's a really well-done remake, worth a play for definite. :wve:

TR1 Revised was my half-term gaming project x3 My sister had to make me hot chocolate in order to try and coax me away from it. And that didn't work every time either.

i want to try it out,.. perhaps even, if i get to past the next test and get my hands on a level editor, i may even try to remake the first tomb raider 1 updating the graphics with tr4 technology, adding some of the tr3 dinosaurs, and german shepherds, water effects and aswell adding some new areas, with expectacular views,.. (thats what im looking forward the most,.. to add new areas to explore on the lost valley, caves, and city of vilcabamba,... ) to add what i expect would be secret areas and bonusses,..:D:D:D

Daoine Sidhe's remake is truly spectacular :D TR1 Revised has my favorite version of the Lost Valley (I think it's better than both TR1 and TRA) :D

ive download it already,.. what do i need to play it now?... shall i install it and thats all,.. or do i have to play it from the original, or from the tr4 disc, or anything??

You need to install the actual level editor from tombraiderchronicles. Then get the title.tr4 and copy it into Daoine's data folder. It's pretty good. But very much more challenging. Prepare for walkthroughs. :vlol:

I couldn't even get through The Caves. I'll try later.

I'm currently playing, "Flashback." And so far, it's my favorite custom TR game! :D

I only got through some bits by using the corner bug v__v I'm ashamed!
The Lost Valley was AMAZING. More thrilling than TRA's version :jmp:
I might download Flashback next, it looks great. I'm still working through Himalayan Mysteries though, bit perplexing for me at the minute hehe.

The Daoine Sidhe remake is an awesome game. I managed to complete it but only after having to download a savegame to skip the timed run across the pillars in City Of Khamoon. I tried and tried and tried but I just couldn't beat that part.

My advice to anyone playing that remake for the first time is not to lose heart if they get stuck on the Caves level. Use the walkthrough if necessary because after Caves it gets better and better.
