I certainly hope he returns. My TRU experience would be greatly diminished without his cheering and life-affirming presence.
It's a shame that there isn't a gaming Oscars actually; I reckon Charlie would have been a hot favourite for Best Supporting Non-Player Character

What is a charlie?!
It's the nickname people gave to the fish in TRA which appears in a few of the underwater sections (like Vilcabamba and Natla's Mines) :)

I suppose Charlie was a catfish. I remember there were various times I saw Charlie and freaked out for half a second thinking he was a crocodile or something dangerous.

Yep for sure. I'd love some nature in the game that is just there for realism, and not to rip into La. Even just some bunnies that hop around and run away when Lara gets too close or butterflies that float around in the air would be cool. Just adds to the atmosphere and makes it a little more realistic I think.

I hope Charlie does make an appearance, although not in the 'go this way' capacity of TRA. I'd just like to see him swimming around having a nice time. He doesn't need to concern himself with whether Lara is going the right way or not.
I'd also like to see other wildlife. Snakes, birds, little lizards, insects mice etc. that aren't enemies. It'd make these jungles etc. feel more alive and that much more real.

*blinks* I didn't know the fish actually lead you around the water levels. Thank goodness I didn't realize it. How horrible. I want the fish in the water with Lara, 'cause it's cool, but she should die because she gets lost a few times. Ya know, the good ol' TR 'where the hell am I?' feeling.

i don't mind if charlie returns, i never though a such a small thing had so much interest and so many fans. he must be so proud!

I'm sorry, I don't have TR2 installed so I don't have any save game near that part... :( I hope other members can help and illustrate it. It's just at the beggining of the level, when you start underwater.. If you look around there's a trail of barrels and crates leading to the air hole.

My favorite is in Natla's Mines...he dissappears into the dirt at the bottom of the lake.
I must admit, I really liked having something alive in the water in TRA...it made things more realistic. I sure hope they can explore that more expansively in TRU. That is, if we get the pleaseure of water boards (PLEASE?!?!!).
It's likely there'll be at least one fish in Underworld. If not, then that means "Charlie"'s burrowed himself too far into the ground and starved by getting lost.
Hey, I really loved Charlie! It really impressed me the first time I saw him! It made the undewater section of TRA look wonderful!!! And its rather mysterious how he's alaways swimming around in places that have a lot to do with Atlantis....huuummm....:D

With today's technology, we should have plenty of fish in the water... But from what I've seen so far, I don't think we'll have a tons of fish with those bad graphics. :p
I don't recall ever noticing a fish, but it's been awhile since I've played. I too hope there are a lot of animals and things in the new TR.

I certainly realized there were some fishes in the waters in some levels, but I didn't know it was always the same, nor that his name was charlie, and even less, that he was helping.
But it shows some humor from CD putting a fish leading the way :p I'd like to have it back. From now on, I'm his fan :D

I want Charlie back too. One time when I followed him he just lead me to a bunch of wood underwater and I didn't see any secrets. Does he always lead you to something? Or is it just sometimes? I might have missed it because I was about to drown.

Although i think that it is not going to appear on Underworld, because since we are on the Underworld, it seems a bit strange on how a fish can swim there...
Unless Lara eats it when she is in Mexico, due to a striking hunger. That way he could appear as a fish phantom and scare the hell out of her! If Charlie appears on this way i will most certainly like it :p

I really like the fact that our friendly fish friend showed us the way to all those under water passages helped us to find things in Anniversary. I have to admit that when I first saw that fish I did not know it was friendly I simply got scared and jumped out of my seat and swam in the opposite direction to avoid being attacked. But it was until later I realised that the fish was a helper to help you find a way out and to help you get to the other side where you needed to go.
