Story line
Lara has finally reached the final destination of her adventure which takes her to certain heights in the mountains to find the final artefact, the elemental key. With this she can combine the Sun, Moon and Earth key to lift the cloaking spell and reveal the dark and forgotten city of Sanus.

Levels being covered in this set:
Beyonder's Hand (level 12)
The location wehre the Beyonder crumbled and holds the Elemental Circle. The level will be tat tropical inside the mountains.

City of Sanus (level 13)
Full oriental themed level. The vast, giant city which was once the most strongest place in the land.

Emperor's Palace (level 14)
The 2nd Oriental themed level. The emperor's most precious treasures have been stored here. Though Lara must cross the dangerous palace full of traps to reach the Tower of Eyes.

Tower of Eyes (level 15)
A tower / dungeon themed level. With its all seeing eyes the tower would eternally watch over the city and punish those who break the law of Sanus.

note: screenshots might differ from actual release due to fixations/tweaks such as lightning/texturing
Don't worry, the level is constantly being tweaked during testing.

This is not going to be a 12 level release, these are only the last 3 levels of the entire series ( previous series were already released before ). Hence the name Sanus4. The previous set of levels need to be adjusted to make it a full complete game. I will do that after the release of these. Cause Sanus 1 and 2 need heavy remake.

They are awesome!
I like the lightning very much...

But don't you think the level is too dark when compared to the horizon?
The level makes you think it is set at night, but the horizon shows it is daylight...
Make the horizon a little bit darker, so the darkness of your level and those trees carry on with the darkness of the trees in the horizon...

Thanks for the tips =) That will be changed for sure, I am aware of this but I haven't really found the suitable horizon yet. The first one is supose to take place a bit at dawn. I always focus on level itself first and then on the horizon and such.

tizerist, correct. Eventually at the end, my goal is to create a full Sanus game. Right now the scripts for each level is not compatible and also the endless bugs in Sanus 1 and 2. Those two series will be remade and properly designed. =)

the screen in the beyonders hand look very atmospheric :tmb:

in the last two screens, there should be more lighting to give a realistic feel. i would personally have lights on the roof and some accentuation of the color on the walls :tmb:

Yasin

I don't see the reason create more realism when the level is a submerged city from the darkness.

well, when has there been a reason to create realism especially in the floating islands levels? :D :p

I still have myself mixed feelings about the horizon. Hard to explain but I'll leave that aside for now. Focussing on the 2nd level is more important.

Well obviously no, therefor your suggestion seems out of the place.

Last couple of weeks I have been focussing on 3D modelling to decorate my level better. Two new screenshots is all I can show now, the first one is an improved screenshot. Screenshots may differ from end result such as lightning of objects/areas perhaps texturing.

Did you create these banisters yourself?, they look hot:D

Yasin
14-05-08, 11:49
I didn't quite understand that XD. My english fails me sometimes: What banisters you mean?

ShadyCroft
14-05-08, 12:24
:) the banister is that little fence you see along the pool. Also, that little fence you see along any stairs to grab on while climbing up or down is called a banister.

Yasin
14-05-08, 12:34
Thanks for clearing that out Shady. =) I thought more like "banister" as in banner. I kept looking and thinking what it might be XD

**notes word down in memory dictionary**

Now to awnser the question: Yes, I fully made them myself. I googled up some pictures to get an idea how certain architectural objects look like. Using that as a base idea worked my way slowly.

Stil alot need to be done such as connecting the entire city ( I never builded city based level, even though oriental theme ) and also figuring a way to design the Tower of Eyes effectivly.

Well to play it you will have to wait deffintly a while. And I mean a real while. I tend to build my levels with care and love, not try to finish it asap. Afterall, it is the conclusion of the series therefor extra care is needed. But I already know what to do, question is: will I be able to make those ideas reality. Quite a challange.

If I roughly estimate the current buildspeed, I would say it will take me atleast till september or something to reach beta testing fase.

Aside the object so does your outfit Po Yu! I love your weapon set and outfit and Lara object. For my full Sanus saga I have found your other outfits ( TR3 pacific an another one ) on TRsearch engine which I will be using definitely to improve the older Sanus levels.

Thank you all for the replies. I am proud of what I achieved so far with custom object creation. It is a fun but tough job but the end result is very satisfying. This is all I can show for now from this level, other screenshots will cover the next levels in the list.

From the first level, Beyonder's Hand ( I still need to find a more suitable horizon and perhaps the textures will go high-res ( currently they are 64x64 in this level )

And finally I managed to create a set of objects to decorate my level within it's theme, resulting into three updated screenshots from the City of Sanus level.

Ay, Thanks for the comments. The pace is quite slow due to certain inspiration breakdowns and the life of us poor students =P

Could be excuses but I take my time and pleasure instead of rushing and stressing.
