Hi all, :wve:
I have a problem with the classic Tomb Raider games! The horizon turns out like this:

I have tried the multipatcher but it did not help. Anyone else encountered this?
Thanks. :)
I assume you have an Nvidia Geforce 8800 card? I have the exact same problem with the skybox. I also noticed a couple days ago that the texturing in Lara's arms is screwed up in the Nevada TR3 levels. Even worse is another video card glitch that makes the lasers in those sections invisible (making it hard to get through).
Has anyone figured out a fix for this (beyond changing the video setting from hardware to software acceleration which makes it look pixelated as heck)?

That's correct. I have a Nvidia 8800 card. :(
There are a few other threads on this issue. All of them say the problem is with the Nvidia video card drivers. Unfortunately this will be an ongoing problem until Nvidia fixes it in a future driver. I may send an e-mail or call Nvidia to ask them about this. A 10 year old game probably wouldn't be too high on their priority list though.:(

Hm, yeah. :( It's just that it's not this game only, it's TR2+ GM and TR3 too, but strangely not Level editor games.
It's so annoying with those graphical glitches. :(
Yep, that's a known issue with not the 8800 series only but the whole 8 serie.
I had the GF 8500 GT, I had this problem with , then I upgraded to a GeForce 8800 GTS 512, and still the same matter. ;)
I doubt nvidia would make any compatible drivers with since this game is 10 year old, but if you really want to play classic TRs only, you'll have to downgrade to a specific forceware version. ;)
^ 84.21 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_84.21.html) to be exact :)

Thanks raiderfun and Alex, but is this safe? Will this ruin my gaming experience with TR Legend/ Anniversary/LOK Defiance?
^ Not much of... :) Besides I don't think you're going to play old and newer games/TRs simultaneously.

No, not at the same time. :)
Thanks. :)
you can always switch to and fro between driver versions as/when needed
yes, it's a bit cumbersome, but not particularly dangerous
let's face it :
TANSTAAFL! :D

A little bit of an update for you Nvidia 8800 video card owners. I have been puzzled by the TR2 skybox problem ever since getting the card 2 years ago. Well, the latest driver (August 21st) from Nvidia cleared the problem right up.:tmb:

I hardly ever update my drivers, but the Resident Evil 5 benchmark was giving me an unusually low FPS. The driver cleared that issue up too thankfully.:)
Thanks for the "heads up" :tmb:
