Why does TR2 slow down at parts?

[Encore]

I have tweaked all graphics settings and still, in specific parts of the game (for example, when Lara is facing the canal with the mines in Venice or during some combat moments), the image kinda "staggers" a bit, as if the framerate drops or something. Why??? :confused::confused:

I've gotta wonder... the multi-patcher will fix this issue with Tomb Raider III and copy everything over to your hard-drive, I have this issue the worst with The Last Revelation. It stutters *SO* badly. Is there any kind of a fix to do what the multi-patch did with TR3 to the other games?

[EDIT] Except for the first one and the ones that come after TR Chronicles, of course, because they don't need it. (And TR1's already difficult enough to fix as it is.)

Actually is possible to play TR2 without the disk, you just need first to make a ISO/backup image of your original disk using Nero or any burning program then use any virtual drive to insert it like it would has a original one.

^ True, my bad, ISO won't make it but a MDF/BIN image made by Alcohol 120%/CDRwin should be possible to make 1:1 original copy and the music should work.

And while that is nice, it requires an external program (that costs money to use more than just a trial version). I wonder if we know who made the TR3 portion of the multi-patch, because I'd definitely be willing to take a few weeks to make that same fix for people who have the disc.

Ah, yes. That's right. But that's only a problem with TR1 & 2, right? So theoretically it could be done with TLA, TLR and TRC. The problem is figuring out how to do it.

The only way is to convert CDA tracks to WAV or any compressed format (MP3/OGG), but you'll need to patch the game engine to make it read those ;) Not mentioning that it will be illegal without permission of Eidos...
