Textures are well applied and the lighting looks good too.
Maybe a spotlight here and there to highlight some sections. :D

It is actually based on the TR2 fishstatue. I made it rounder and adjusted the tail so the platform could sit on it nicely. :D

I was too lazy to create it entirely from scratch... :o Still took me quite a lot of work to get it done though.

Your off to a great start! The lighting needs some tinkering maybe, make it a bit brighter. It also looks a bit empty, try adding some object too.

Looks great Titak! Well, I can't top that, but here's a screen from an Egyptian level I'm making.

Hello,

Could please everyone also try to use some compression on their posted pictures ?

d|r's and the centaur's both have ~400kB in size and I am pretty sure it's not really necessary.

Titak's has 170kB and you wouldn't want to say it looks ugly that way, would you ? (still too big, those 170 kB I think :cln: )

Lazy or not Titia, I dare to say this one looks better then the statue in Legend. The expression on the fish is more mature. Also love the blue lighting on it :)

sort of, it's part of a timed sequence:
-flip first switch, raises block
-block stays for 10 seconds
-climb on block and hit another switch
-open door

this looks more like a satelite dish than a fountain, maybe if you rid of the pointy thing on top

TRA/TRL Fountain by Me!!
textures from tomb raider Legend and anniversary. if you use it, please give me credit. matrix54/mike quahe/mike please not, this is an objects that is 3 clicks high and take up about 1 square(it pertrudes to the next). this will require TREP and it is very high in faces and vrtices and needs the sprinkler to make it like a real fountain. contains the srinkler(tranparent nullmesh ( please trigger in game, not with torch ) and the fountain. any prroblems, let me know and ill fix. thanx.

@Compass: Sorry, but I really dislike the final door. :( You've used the same texture tiled all over it, and it looks pretty bad. :o The other objects you made were great, but I think this one needs a little more work.

@matrix: Very nice. ;) Should look good with a waterfall object on it in-game. :)

Well I noticed we have a lot of human bones on Trsearch but no bones of animals, if you want you could create those. I'm sure it wont take up to much time.

It has been made climbable with TREP. ;)

Some more atmospheric lighting would enhance the place I think.
And some transition textures going from the floor texture to the grass would also look better I think, since it is a ruin and nobody comes along every week to cut the grass in a straight line. ;)

I wanted to also have those little handlebars sticking out but Lara can grab a climbable pushable at the sides of the block as well, so I wnet for the large handlebar. Now Lara always grabs the handlebar, no matter how far to the side she is. :D

You should also keep this in mind if you decide to make it a climbable pushable. It loosk weird when Lara pushes or pulls an object while having her hands in thin air. ;)

Well spotted. :D

That statue is actually still the TR4 Poseidon statue. The one you have to place the Trident on. ;)

No, I haven't changed the push/pull animation.
It is hardcoded so I would have to keep the basic movements the same. But I could change the position of Lara's hands so it looks like she is actually holding the handlebar. Good idea! I might just do that! :D

This is my favourite of your screenshots - it is dark and moody but everything is clearly visible! Some of your other shots were far too bright to be realistic. ;) Nicely built though...

It is not hardcoded! Just make a new animation and adjust the amount of frames in the "state change editor". Gecko made faster animations. I adjusted them once by deleting frames in between. She pushed twice as fast but it looks so unrealistic so I did not like it. I guess only new animations can make faster pushing realistic :(

Thanks! I will maybe make it a bit darker though, because she gets a torch later on, and she runs with that to solve some puzzles.

The bit above the doorway isnt.... great. The columns still need a bit of lighting down, but it's nice. Oh and the windows are a bit out of place. ;) Nothing you can't change though, right?

Yes, it looks good there but it doesn't in your game, maybe use some brick textures? Or use the wall ones, but don't put windoes

it looks ok in my opinion, the reason why the windows dont look good is because they look too much like part of the wallpaper.. seprotate the top of the window like yo have with the bottom, or mabie create a window object which defines it a bit more.
also.. decrease the brightnes of the column and make it a bit darker all round. :)
also.. also the gym wall looks really boring! .. thats what is majorly obvious.. either add more of those wall tube things around the building and/or make the texturing stand out more (a better texture set)

see if you can find (or make) a texture that tricks the mind to think that the wall has that 'step in' effect that the anniversary gym has down the centre (if you know what i am talking about

Okay i love the outside it looks like it has its own atmosphere. to improve on it add a light coloured spot bulb around the door. that wouls give it the feeling that is in tra

also, a sun bulb pointing at the gym would be a good touch since it will give it a nice úD feeling. If you already have a sunbulb in the room point it towads the gym.

It is not hardcoded! Just make a new animation and adjust the amount of frames in the "state change editor". Gecko made faster animations. I adjusted them once by deleting frames in between. She pushed twice as fast but it looks so unrealistic so I did not like it. I guess only new animations can make faster pushing realistic :(
I thought that the pushanimations were hardcoded since the pushable objectslots don't have their own animation?
I read it somewhere a long time ago so I never bothered to experiment with it. Good to know that it can be changed after all. :D

when you do change it bear in mind that it's her hands mesh (not sure which one...) determines the movement of the block, i did a pulling animation replacement with the TR1 style, she started pulling it when she started kneeling :P

Yep, keep the water - no one likes being set alight and having no way to put it out, only to have to reload a save from about ten minutes ago and have to play through the whole thing again. Not fun. Frustrating gameplay leads to the recycling bin. Other than that, I like the screen!

@igor32: I think you should get rid of the water, otherwise what's the point in it being a fire trap? ;) If she can put herself out straight away then it removes almost all of the difficulty. Most players would probably save before attempting this room, so if they die it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Well they're both enemy and outfit, the enemy will be released with or without the outfit, if you'll finish it soon I guess i'll release the enemy with it :cln:.

I dont really think he should change it, since its not so easy to make one version, remake it, remake it again, its pretty hard to retexture it.

Floor textures look repetative in all homes. They're tiles, not rocky cliffs.

In good homes, they really do not, it depends on how you texture the floor. If you take one big 128 tile, hit Big Texture, and hit Texture Floor, it will look a bit boring, but if you, one by one, texture the entire floor, it will look better.

That still get's you the same result instead your textures are less High quality. The reason for using 256x256 is to get higher resolution in 1 single tile on your floor. If you select quarter of it it won't look as detailed as applying the 256 one. Ofcourse a quarter from 256 texture is always better then a quarter from a 128 texture.

You need to align your textures better. I bet you see cracks in the water? you crack mode and you will see where cracks are created and then you can fix them. Also, make the lighting in the water more blue and add a sun bulb to every room. A tip is also to add a weak shadow bulb into the water that is spread everywhere so that it looks a litte more realistic. Thats just me anyway.

Also, save it as a .jpeg by pressing "print screen" and then copying it into paint.

I want to thank titak for helping me with outdoor enviornments(she may not remember but she did).

I got inspiration from no where(with a little help from pics of egypt online). this may or may not be finished. so, what do you all think. Im still going to make it bigger(since bigger is better, in some cases).

I always like these valley-with-temple type of areas a lot. :D
At first I thought about it being too dark. But then I figured that this lighting is actually possible in a valley like this. If the sun sets in teh evening, the sky can still be this bright and blue but when you are in a valley surrounded by high rocks it becomes quite dark on the bottom.
If this is the kind of atmosphere you are trying to create, you could highlight the top of the rocks some more. ;)

I'd actually be carrying on with my Asian level right now, if it weren't for some unfixable bugs that suddenly appeared in the level for no reason, so I've had to start another project instead. :o

I'm making Salvador and Dr.Salvador (Chainsaw guy), I didnt thought about making others... I cant make other enemys cause some requair new animations and joints like the monks, I might can replace Demanned from TR3 with...dunno who...someone with a large weapon...

EDIT: Too bad the meshes dont join well...guess i'll quit doing that...

bbut its getting there. read the wadmerger tutorial, it should help. its in the the wad merger files somewhere.

You can allign meshes in animation editor on 'No Animation' in the list , then use the move feature to move them closer or further apart, but this will usually mean you have to alter the baddies animation

That doesnt make sence , in wadmerger you move the joints together so they join, but you'll have to reanimate it, what meshes are you using , i could rip the original ones , would probabally need lowering the polys a little bit thou.

The bulb settings were:

There's a few Light Bulbs and a Sun Bulb down in the pit as well though, along with the Fog Bulb. :)
