As it's for theatre class, I would suggest a theatrical song. Try What Is This Feeling from Wicked - you'll find video and audio on youtube. It's performed in the first act, meaning that it has plenty of energy. It's quite important that you like the song though - don't do one that you don't feel really ecstatic about because it'll flop. And if you do it with another person, make sure they like it too.
