Unfinished Business Challenge - Stats

This is it, folks :)

Rules:
1. Everyone is to post final stats screenshot for every level (if you go no-scratch, post life bar also).

2. Let's limit screenshot size to reasonable 640x480 or even less - make it big enough to see the stats :) Post all your screens in one post - edit it simply

3. We prefer not to set ending limitation, so just try to keep running along with others. Come and check people's progress. So generally no ending limitation

Generic limitations:
1. No medipacks (or as few as possible).
2. All secrets and all (as much as possible) pickups.

Egypt is now done! God i loved that so thrilling! I did better in the 2nd one i think though i only got 2 secrets so sorry guys. I've really enjoyed this so far. :D

I started already but I'm having troubles with the drop after picking up secret #3 (some shotgun shells). I tried doing a safe drop and landing on a sliding slope (left side) but I still took some damage, I don't seem to find a way out of this spot without hurting Lara. Any thoughts those also playing no-scratch? Oh, only Gabi I believe...

I am sorry, but I can't help you there. I still have not finished TR1 and therefore not started UB yet. And I don't even remember the spot you are talking about. But when it is not possible to avoid health loss because of steep drops or falls, we try to loose as little as possible. Good luck :tmb:.

I had the same problem as you, stranger. So I fixed it this way.......

I grabbed a screenshot, then used Paintshop ( or ANY generic graphic proggy ) to enhance the brightness ( contrast too, if needed ) and posted the result ! easy peasy :)

yeah. The game is on full brightness. its not the brightness its the distance fog. its far too close, even for tr1.

^ You're using Basic VESA emulation mode. Instructions given in PM :)

Also: Go to UB folder, run DgVoodooSetup.exe, choose DOS platform and set Gamma to 150% on the Glide tab. Press OK button.

Come on people, fill this thread with your woes and pains, ask for help or brag on how good you are (within reason :p), but don't leave me all by myself in here.
After a few PC-mishaps I have finally finished the TR1 challenge and have started the UB one. I am playing "no scratch" and have made it to the third secret unharmed, but (as Anker stated earlier) I don't find a way to get back down without health loss. Any ideas, hints, glitches (no cheats, though)? I have been swandiving Lara into (what I thought was a "proper") wall, but killed her every time with a bad thud and broken bones.
Well, I will keep on trying, maybe there is a way I have not found yet, but if it can't be done, then I'll try to get the minimum health loss possible.

Edit: I don't believe it!!!!! I have finished the level (did not make it without health loss :() only to now find out - shock, horror!!! - that I missed no less than 10 (yes, you read right: 10) pickups. I don't know how and where, but, of course, this is no good, so I'll have to play it all again. Please bear with me :o.

I need your help. How did you manage to drop into the pyramid (in level 2, after moving the 2 blocks)? Whatever I try, Lara always looses some health :(. The "drop and roll" method does not work, probably because she lands on a slight slope :confused:.
I have played on now, but kept a save from that point, so if you know a way to do it, I'll replay the level from there.
How are you doing anyway?

I halfway through the level now and yes, that spot you mentioned I think is impossible to avoid health loss there. So no worries, cause I got hurt lol

I'm somewhat concerned about the kills though. According to TR Travelers Guide there was supposed to be a panther at some point inside the first temple, after you turn the lights on, but I only encountered one. I just kept going.

I had started to forget how frustrating no-scratch and pistols-only can be, and how fun at the same time!!! I have had to reload up to six times in some points lol, TR UB gets stuck for me at times when I just loaded a savegame, but that problem will be gone when we start TR 2... I can't wait!!

I only encountered two panthers. According to the "in house walkthrough" (TRF) :
2nd Secret - Proceed into the passage. On the T-junction, the left way leads to the switch that turns on the light. Do not use it and go to the right. Turn around the corner and draw weapons. When you reach the next corner, a panther will attack from the left. Back up and kill it. Continue along the passage to a lighted area with a Large Medi Pack, which is the Secret.
You can either go back and turn on the lights or proceed to the next lighted room, which is just beyond. Before entering this room, follow the other way of the junction to find a switch that opens the trapdoor inside the room. Once you use it, drop through the trapdoor. There are four openings in the floor here and more in the two passages, which lead to two switches. A panther is lurking on a ledge beneath the openings and if you want to kill it from above, use the large opening close to the left switch.
As to having to replay certain parts of a level: tell me about it!! :p Sometimes I have to reload again and again and again. But it is so satisfactory when things finally work out and Lara gets away unscratched - I love it :D!
And personally I find it much more challenging having to find alternatives to running through a level with weapons blasting away and killing everything.

As for the drop into the pyramid on the 2nd level, I couldn't find a solution for that problem. It's just a 1x1 hole, no room for alternative methods :hea: so we must settle with a minimal health loss there.

I have finished "Atlantean Stronghold" (stats updated) and did not like this level. Loosing quite a bit of health right at the beginning peeved me off and I have to admit that I was not as careful as I usually am, and therefore lost some more health along the way (instead of reloading at certain places again and again as I normally would) :o.
Ah well, off to "The Hive" now which hopefully will be a more pleasant experience with no steep drops.
How is everyone else doing? It is very quiet around here ;).

I am going to play Atlantis in the morning. I have been building (trle) today..well.Saturday so I'll play some today. I have been playing through tr2 because I never completed it so I am geared for some raiding. :)

I started The Stronghold today, but I lost health from like 3 drops. I have less than half of the bar right now, and I hate it. Oh well... I must admit I had never player this level before, in my first attempt with UB I only went as far as Temple of the Cat, and when I was about to start the Atlantis levels I got bored and never finished them.
We'll see then.

BTW, Bookie how did you manage to get 57 pickups in Return to Egypt? o_O

He has not :confused:. It's the second level, Temple of the Cat. In the first one, he has got 49 pick ups.
You probably assumed that his second screenshot was his first, since he did not edit his screenshot post, but made a second one.

And yes, I know exactly how you feel about Atlantean Stronghold :rolleyes:. I did not like it either. It was ever so demoralising having to loose all that health right at the beginning. I did try various "dropping variations", but they all did not work for me.

The loss was cause by two drops, one at the beginning, when you have to get down the tall structure (next to the one with the 4 holes), and the other after dropping from one of such holes.

Sorry for the double post, but I have just finished the challenge =)
It was kinda frustrating that yet again I could not avoid losing a tiny bit of health, after killing the Centaur in the fleshy room and dropping down to the block below where you pick a couple of uzi clips. I tried two ways of safe dropping and I lost the same ammount with both of them... Anyways. I had a lot of fun playing these last two levels. I had never played them until now. Loved them!!!
