Nice thread idea! :tmb:
How to write a poem in 5 minutes (clicky) (http://www.ehow.com/how_2151292_write-poem-five-minutes.html)

A spring breeze wafts in my window,
warmishly cool, and calling;
it has the fresh scent of impending rain
but for now, no wetness falling.

It's early and quiet, the neighbors
sleep Saturday morning late.
my computer friends just can't compete
I'm off to take the bait!

It's night and wind is blowing lazy,
few cats in street are fighting crazy.
I heard a door opening behind my back,
few steps...Someone bite me to my neck.

It's like a passion, I see attacker's mind,
I am sleeping, bleeding...I am blind.
I feel stream of blood pour on my shoulder,
I want start scream - ,,Bite me harder!"

This stranger's name is Severen.
He told me ,,You know who I am."
I lie on cold floor, my body is dead
And this is story how vampire I met.

The Ball:

Here I sit up on my wall,
looking for my lonely ball.
Where could it be all alone,
maybe making friends with a nice pine-cone.
Though you may think that may be pretty daft,
it makes more sense than meeting a Giraffe,
with who it has lots of laughs,
and takes some questionable baths.
But now I must stop wondering what it may see,
and concentrate on getting off this LSD.

Thank you, thank you

Of course not, honey. Non-rhyming is called "free verse", so set yourself free!

I'm making this up on the spot...:D

Lost Feeling

Through the dredging lands, back to home
The fire spits warm air to reach the centre of my heart
No more will this be true, I can't feel the warm air.
To think it's a coincedence that at the same time
My beloved left me for something I did
The fire still spits, but with a different intention.
That lost feeling, it may hurt when it lands on my heart,
yet I know it's home.

Hehehe here goes :D

HOME

Take me away, take me home.
To where the music is played,
Smooth and rich,
To where the songs sung
Strikes my heart with nonchalance,
Breaks my soul with their tragic words.

Take me to where the sky is blue,
Where the clouds chase each other,
A myriad of shapes and forms,
Where the grass is green and sweet,
Soft beneath my back, as I lie with you,
My dreams come freely as we sleep beneath the blue, blue sky.

Take me to where the river meets the earth,
Where the water laps its shores,
Where the water shimmers and flows,
Better yet, bring me to the sea,
Where the waves toss and turn
In an exhibit of pure power, how proud the sea is,
Battering the cliffs, carving stone,
My heart goes there, restless and wild.

Take me, love, beneath the night sky,
Where the stars softly twinkle, like jewels in the sky,
Where the moon glows like a pale globe in the darkness,
While we ponder and wonder away,
Wishing on falling stars,
We lie beneath the heavens, my heart bound to yours.

Take me away, take me home.
For where we go, love binds us,
Nourishes us, teaches us.
Take me home where we belong,
To where the music calls us,
To where life takes us,
To where our roots sunk deep.
My heart is yours, love,
Dance with me, love, sing with me,
Dance with me to the place called home.

I was feeling nonchalant at the time :D

Very romantic, I really like it, but!

Rowan, now you have to do one off the cuff, like the rest of us!

Inspired by your love poem here's another off the cuff from me:

I remember the jamaica rain
liquid sunshine and laughing insane
I remember the scarlet rose
as the water lapped at our glistening toes
I remember our private dance
and how you bathed me in romance
I remember the swell of my heart
when you promised me we'd never part
I only had eyes for you
the world fell away and it was just us two
I remember our sacred vows
They mean more to me than ever now.

Saturday afternoons are such boring times.
So I figured I would make some poetical rhymes.
I'm writing them down now on this thread.
But really, I can't think of anything from the top of my head.
So I think I will submit this now.
And then go and feed my cat, because she's going meow.

(lol. I dunno)

Writing a poem as I go along,
Waiting for the clock to go "ding dong",
Bed's calling, blanket's waiting,
Time to start closing, to start dreaming,
But pushing through the mess on my table,
Makes me think "an early night" is just a fable,
Groggy & dim, I clear the mess,
It's about time I get some rest.

There's a random poem for you :D

I'm sitting among
with people with whom I don't get along.
They make me crazy
With their chit chat about Daisies.
They drink port
And argue about sport.
Cooking is what I like
And I like to ride my bike.
I'm a computer geek
I don't like to speak
The nature freaks
are fascinated by the bird's beaks.
I suck at the piano
and I like to wear camo
with my Levi sneakers
which sometimes give others the creapers.
Now that I'm finished with my poem
I'm going home
where I am going to eat
and then get a good nights sleep.

Just a few random things that I made up as I went on. It's kinda stupid but enjoy.

These aint mine, they are from the mind of my beautiful Sarah, but she's allowed me to share these with you all, and they are about as random as she gets
==================
The fear that lurks

I cry into the night, I dare not speak
I hear the darkness around me slowly creep
To be alive is to be afraid
I hide in the shadows where non are safe
The floorboards creak, The air grows thick
Is it real, or my mind playing trick’s?
A tapping heard from the wall behind
The scared child within me screams and cries
The lighting flashes, the thunder roars
I take a chance and run for the door
Entering light I turn around
Back to the room with the terrible sounds
There’s nothing there but yet I check
And then feel his breath upon my neck...

==================================

To live a life in a world of dreams

I dream the dreams I dare not speak
My fantasies, they make me weak
In the end I will be all but gone
To allow the world to move along
I live a lie in a field of mist
Hoping just to once more exist
And it is love that i hope to seek
But I dare not wonder, dare not peek
For within this world that we all share
Is a sinfull life, though none shall care
And when it comes, when i am slain
My love is lost, but my soul is gained
How i wonder, how i wish
To find my love and true loves kiss
But in the end, i have nothing but pain
How i long to live and love again

As I watch late night TV,
I realise I am as lonely as I can be.
But there must be millions of people like I.
Those conclusions I cannot deny.
So I switch of the stupid box.
And forget about everything that mocks.
Now the silence feels more comfortable.
I can think about my things, and make things less dull.
I will sit here in thoughts for a while.
while I search for this bloody music file...

Sunday nights are so mundane
I'm sitting here wondering if I'm sane
I think I'm losing my mind.
I think I need a drink to unwind.

lol how lame. sorry

Burning the eyes,
Softening the cheeks.
A bereft release.

I don't know if I should make a political one, but what the hell..

Osama blew the twin towers,
With this disaster he had more powers,
With a guy living in a cave,
how should he really behave?
Someone who is so religious should carry a gun?
In that case the next generation will be done.
So I'm asking what is the point of the fight?
What really is wrong from right?
I don't think I will ever know
who is my friend or who is my foe
Really, why can't we be friends
and see where the happiness ends...

Watch the clouds as they past,
for it may not last.
Smell the air as it blows,
it'll sweep you off your toes.
Search the answers for life,
and maybe you will end up on God's coffee table.
Just don't sit and wait,
Because your fait,
will come sooner if you wait.

(lines 5 and 6 don't rhyme, who cares:p)

I don't need to fly to feel uplifted
I don't need to throw a car to feel strong
I don't need straight A's to feel gifted
And I don't need a home to belong

But I do need a star to find my way
And I do need a hero from time to time
But I'll never need to waste the day
Looking for a soul to call mine

I know, it's stupid, but that's the best I got
